News Feed Summary Embedding on Homepage

I have searached through the forum as best I could and cannot find a direct answer for what I wish to do.
I want to have the right side pane of my homepage as a summary of the latest news posts. I dont mind using either the Blog or RSS tools to create the news articles, whichever is easiest.
So if I entered an RSS article for instance with a title and content including an image and text, in the right pane of the homepage you would see a summary of the article, with a "click here to read more" link to go to the full article. The pane would be scrollable. It would basically have the same look as if it was an embeded twitter feed pane, except all internalised within my domain.
I have Evolution 9 software and believe this simple function must be possible but I just cant figiure out how to do it! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello David,
In Version 12 you can use the Blog widget object after having installed it in step 3 by clicking on "manage" on the right over the avaiable objects.
This objet will show the posts you wrote in the blog of your project by showing the text you entered in "Caption" in case the post text is too long.

Can this be done in version 9 or would I have to pay for an upgrade to have this functionality?
David, you own 12, why not export from 9 and import to 12, the transition should be fairly painless with many (responsive) advantages.

I know this, however the version 9 query is because this is what is installed on the PC belonging to the person who does the basic updates to the website. Version 12 is my personal licence.
I basically just need to know if it is possible in V9, and if I know for sure it is not, I can then knowingly advise them to upgrade.

This object is not available in Version 9. You will find this option only by using Version 12 which you have.
