Slider Transition Duration + Continuous Uninterrupted Audio Across All Pages  en

Autor: Mike M.
Visitado 4817, Seguidores 2, Compartilhado 0

Hi All,

My questions concern the following issues:

1    The duration of (slide transitions)

2    Removing the ( black space that appears briefly in the Header) before the slideshow actually loads.

3    Being able to (maintain uninterrupted audio across all web pages) of my website.

My Set Up

Software Version:     Website X5 Evolution 13

Operating System:    Windows 7 pro

Browser:                  Firefox

I have created a two websites, for two entertainer friends of mine, using Website X5 Evolution 13 which, up until now has done everything I have asked of it.

The websites are as follows:

www.keedie.info

www.beckybennett.info

The issues I have are with a couple of items I wish to add to the www.beckybennett.info website.

SLIDESHOW

I want to add a full width slideshow to the Header of the webpage using the Gallery widget and the Fade Transition.

I can create the full width slideshow without any problems but, although I can choose the duration of each image, I cannot see a way in which to change the duration of the fade between the images.

I would like to be able to set the fade at 2 or 3 seconds, or more, but it looks like I am stuck with the very short fade duration available - which is far to quick and abrupt - especially when accompanied by a slow romantic soundtrack.

Is there anyway I can change the fade duration please?

If not, is there another slider available from either Incomedia, or anywhere else, such as Wow Slider, that I could use within Website X5 Evolution 13?

If so, as Wow Slider is not integrated into the Website X5 program by design, would it be possible to recieve some instructions on how to add a Wow Slider, or something similar, to my website.

Also when I navigate between pages, there is a brief delay - showing a black background where the Header should be - before the Header slideshow actually appears.  When using just a single full width image in the Header, and not a slideshow, the image is already there, when I navigate to different web pages, immediately.

Is there a way to prevent this short black area delay please?

CONTINUOUS AUDIO

As the slideshow in the Header will incorpoate lots of images, I would like to give visitors to the website the opportunity to listen to some music whilst they are watching it.

I do not want to add a music track via the Gallery widget as this is far to slow to load.

Using a HTML link to a piece of music on You Tube is far quicker to load - and this is what I have done, as by doing it this way the music plays immediately.

Again. I have no problem in adding a music player to the Header in this way and the music plays perfectly when you click on the You Tube player link.

However, the problem I have is that the music stops when you navigate to another page.

In order to continue listening to the music you have to click on the You Tube player button again and then the music starts from the beginning.

Visitors would soon get quite annoyed with that scenario very quickly - so I was wondering...

Is there anyway I can click on the You Tube button to start the music and have it so that it keeps on playing, without interruption, as a visitor to the website navigates through all the different web pages of my website - and will only stop when the visitor to the website chooses to stop the music themselves by clicking on the Stop Button in the You Tube player?

Incidentally, niether of these additions to the www.beckybennett.info website are actually online yet as, for the moment, these changes are only in my Project File.  This is because I do not want to make these changes live unless what I am trying to achieve can actually be achieved.  If not, I suppose I will have to leave things just as they are for the moment and hope that what I am trying to achieve may be possible in a future version of Website X5.

So, just to round up, I would like to be able to achieve the following.

1 Change the duration of the slider fade in the slideshow to whatever duration I desire.

2 Remove the black space in the Header that briefly appears before the slideshow actually appears.

3 Have an audio track playing across all web pages without stopping when you navigate to a different pages.

Thanks, in anticipation the the Incomedia moderators, or any users that maybe able to help.

Best regards to all.

Mike.

Hello Mike,

The duration of the fade at the moment cannot be changed in the program and you can open an idea post to suggest to add such functionality in the future releases of the program.

If you want to add an external HTML code which the desidered functionality you can add it in the HTML code object. We do not provide support for custom HTML code but if you need help to add it you can ask me in case you are unsure where to add a specific code in the program.

About the delay you see when you change page this cannot be avoided since all the content of the page needs to be loaded and in case of a gallery to make it work all the necessary files needs first to be loaded which can take some time.

Youtube doesn't support a loop functionality and in the program the only option would be to use the audio player object which has the option to set a loop for the tracks.

Many thanks!

Hello Mike

Years ago, I had a suggestion to give the possibility to set duration of transitions in a slideshow.

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/119140

This was before the ( also wanted ) slideshow as background were possible.

If you make an idea-post for setting duration of a transition in background-slideshow and object-slideshow, I will give the post a thumb-up.

Kind regards

About the loading time - maybe INCOMEDIA should make an option as for the video - so also there was an option for the slideshow to have an option to specify a preview-image.

Then we could specify a preview-image that was optimized ( hard compressed - very quick load ) for the web and that could be the same image ( but maybe harder compressed ) as the first image in the slide-sequence - then there should be no black holes.

Kind regards

About the wow-slider - I have an example here : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d/slider.html

It is just a test - the images should have been in a better resolution. They are blown-up ( they were used here, also a wow slider : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d/page-137.html )

It is quite easy to integrate the wow-slider in a page but you cannot have it in the row-format unless you make some special code.

If you want some tips to how to integrate a wow-slider on a page then make a post for this, and I will answer if I can.

About the continous audio player : Yoy could let your system open an extra  tab with a page that has the audioplayer/youtube and then it will be possible to have continous music (on that page )  while the users  navigate through your site.

About the continous audio - I have made an example here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/side-34.html

Just click the button and the music should start. You can navigate between pages and the music will still be heard continous.

I have made it with a new window instead of a new tab.

Giuseppe : The swiper Animated Slider is one of the few objects I still not have. Can it be used in row-formats OR can it be expanded to the full width even if the page is not full width - is this what you use the custom code for ?

Hello Giuseppe

I made a test using the wow-slider. I can nearly have it to function.

Only thing is, that you should be able to "swipe" the slideshow - but when you try, the images get "scared" and disappears until the next slide.

I have a test here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/side-37.html

If you should have a hint what could cause this, I would like to hear.

Hi Claudio,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Apologies for the delay in replying to your post but I have been really busy for the last couple of days trying to find a solution to the slider fade duration issue, and the continuous audio across all web pages issue, I have been having.

I think I may have sorted out some of the problems I have been experiencing by using Wow Slider - but I am still looking into it and will hopefully be uploading what I  have come up with a bit later on tonight.

When I have done so I will add another post to this thread in more detail - but I just wanted to send a quick reply to you in the meantime just to say a thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Thanks,

Mike.

Hi John,

Thank you for your quick reply.

And thank you for all the very useful information you gave to me.

Apologies for the delay in replying to your post immediately but I have been really busy for the last couple of days trying to find a solution to the slider fade duration issue, and the continuous audio across all web pages issue, I have been experiencing.

I think I may have sorted out some of the problems by using Wow Slider - but I am still looking into it and will hopefully be uploading the interim solution I have come up with a bit later on tonight.

Also, as I mentioned to Claudio in the message above:

When I have done so I will add another post to this thread in more detail - but I just wanted to send a quick reply to you in the meantime just to say a thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

I will also let you know everything I have come across during my search for a solution.

Just a quick point though.   By using Wow Slider I have managed to sort of achieve the effect I am after and also, because of the 'On Demand Pre Load Image Feature' incorporated into the Wow Slider program, there is now no black area while waiting for the images to load when you navigate through the various pages of the website.

I will explain in more detail in my next post: after the upload.

Thanks,

Mike.

Nice to hear from you.

Just to sort something out -

I talk about, and show example for : Wow slider. ( made a new test here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/side-37---kopi.html )

I am curious to see what you come up with - and if it is the Wow or the Swiper wink

And your solution on the audio.

John, I've posted the link with examples for Swiper Animated Slider Full Width. The Custom code to make full width Swiper Animated Slider is this:

<style>

#imPageRow_1 div { padding: 0; width: 100% !important; }

.swiper-button-prev {left: -46%; right: auto;height:20px;} .swiper-button-next {left: auto; right: -46%;height:20px;}

@media only screen and (max-width: 800px) { #swiper_pluginAppObj_144 .swiper-slide .slide-description { font-size: 20pt;padding:8pt;} .swiper-pagination {display:none;} }

@media only screen and (max-width: 520px) { #swiper_pluginAppObj_144 .swiper-slide .slide-description { font-size: 14pt;padding:3pt;} }

</style>

In that code you only have to change the numbers in bold according to the row you choose for the slide and according to the numbering that WEBSITE X5 assigns to #swiper_pluginAppObj_NUM in your project. You can see it with the function "inspect" in the WEBSITE X5 preview.

You have to buy the optional Object SWIPER ANIMATED SLIDER.

Hello Giuseppe

I made a test also with the : Swiper Grid Slider.

http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/side-38.html

Here I used the #imPageRow_1 div { padding: 0; width: 100% !important; }

It seems to function also with this.

I have also tried to use the galley-object, but this I could not have to fit the whole width - It did but only the navigation arrows were "whole width". The images would only be page-width.

But as I have the wow-slider and I like the KenBurns transition effect ( slow fading and zoom effect ) I think it will do.

But I also like the gallery-object. Only thing here is, that there is no option to set the transition timing.

Do you have any hints for the styling to have the gallery-object to be full-width ?

Hi John, Giuseppe and Claudio,

First of all, please allow me to apologise for my delay in replying to all of your very informative, and helpful, suggestions. Because of the Christmas period I have been so busy that I have not had a great deal of time to devote to the problems I had encountered regarding the inclusion of a full width Slider - and continous Audio Player.

However, I have a bit of time now and I would like to share with you all what I have managed to come up with.

I will do this as a single post to all three of you so as not to clog up the message board with multiple post saying the same thing.

It will be a very long post so please bear with me.

Slider

As you are all aware, I wanted to add a full width slider as the Header to one of my websites. I would have liked to have added the Website X5 version but was deterred by the fact that I could not alter the duration of the transitions between slides, which at only one second duration, looked a bit abrupt - especially if used in conjunction with a slow piece of music. Also, I was not happy about the lag between webpages which left a black space for a second, or more, where the Header should be until the Header actually loaded - and this was with using just two or three images for the Header Slider - where, in fact, I wanted to use thirty or more images.

What I do like about the Website X5 version of the slider, however, is the fact that it actually sits in the Header section - which allows for layering of other images on top of the continually changing images of the Header Slideshow.

I tried a few options but in the end I opted for the WoW Slider version.

PROS

The good thing about the Wow Slider is that it sits at the top of the 'Body' section of the website and is automatically responsive so that it will adjust to any resolution be it a 1920x1080 computer or a 1600x900 Laptop, or a tablet, or phone, without me having to worry about trying to fit everything important into a 1060 space down the middle of the screen to allow for visitors viewing the website on a tablet or phone.

Also, the Wow Slider has the option to employ 'On Demand' which, when related to the images - means that each succesive image within the slider is always ready. So much so, that I have used thirty images within the Header Slider and all of the web pages of my website load the Header immediately with no lag - and no black space at all where the Header should be.

Also, with Wow Slider, I can set the duration of the transitions between the images to whatever I desire - which in the case of the slideshow I have created - is 3 seconds per transition. This duration fits perfectly with the slow smooth jazz music I have chosen to accompany the Header slideshow.

Also, Wow Slider allows the visitor to the website to manually swipe the images in the Slideshow Header left, or right by using the mouse - or pause on an image that they may prefer. This is quite good to be able to do this on a non touch screen computer screen as this feature is usually only available on a touch screen computer or a tablet or phone.

CONS

What I can't do with Wow Slider, however, is to layer further images over the top of the continually changing slideshow images - which could stay there the whole time - or change periodically to another image - whilst the main images of the Header Slider continue to sequentially change underneath.

By this I mean if I wanted to add an advert, or a poster of an upcoming event.

Wow slider does allow the inclusion of text on each individual image - but this is predominantly situated in the lower left of the image and does not always complement the layout of the image. For example, in the Winter Scene slideshow I created the images all contain a fair amount of sky and, therefore, it would have been nice to have had the option to place any text in the upper left corner of the slide. But, you can't have everything I suppose and, to be honest, as a first attempt I have sort of ended up with what I fundamentally wanted to achieve.

In regards to the layering of images. I would have liked to have been able to add the two cut out images of the singer as individual layers so that I could have used all of the different images, and transitions, available in Wow Slider to have taken place behind her but, because the layering feature isn't available I couldn't do this.

Therefore, the whole of the Header, from just below the Menu Bar to the Christmas garland at the bottom of the Header, is one image. I have created this same image thity times - using a different Winter Scene background within each image. This is not good for all of the transitions available in Wow slider as the whole image actually transitions - including the Merry Chrstmas message and the Pop Theate Jazz etc tagline, and the Christmas garland. So if I used a slices or a box in or out transition, then everything included in the image would transition and it wouldn't look good.

However, to overcome this, I used the fade transition. Because all of the image is identical, apart from the Winter Scene behind the two images of the singer, the majority of the image stays the same and, even though actually fading, gives the impression of actually remaining constant on the screen - whilst creating the illusion that only the Winter Scene images behind the two images of the singer are changing.

Apologies for waffling on but I hope my explaination makes sense.

REGARDING THE AUDIO PLAYER

I opted to use 'Amazing Audio Player' for this feature.

Thank you all for your Audio Player suggestions and demos.

As you are all aware, I wanted to have the option of also adding music to the Header Slideshow.

I wanted to be able to add this as an added extra.

As it is a definite no no to bombard a visitor to the website with a choice of automatically playing music that they may have no desire listen to - and have them frantically looking for the button to stop the music - or even worse, clicking on the Back Button to go elsewhere, I only wanted to allow the visitor the option of listening to some music to accompany the slideshow, if they only really wanted to.

The problem I encountered is that if the visitor wanted to listen to some music whilst navigating through the various pages of the website, the music would stop every time you left a page and would have to be started again, from the beginning, on each succesive page visited.

The way around this, and thank you for your demo John, was to have a pop up music player. This is a great idea but the only problem I had with both your version John, and others that I looked at, is that the Audio Player pops up in a kind of mini web page around the Audio player - which looks a bit unsightly. I would like the Audio Player to pop up as just an Audio Player - like an Audio Player does when viewed on your desktop.

Therefore, I have ditched that idea now and gone with the idea of using the Header Slideshow as simply a standalone feature that visitors could leave running in the background with the addition of music whilst remaining on the Home Page only and not when they are navigating the website. So, I suppose in the case of the Christmas Header slideshow I created - the visitor could leave the Header Slideshow playing - with an additional musical accompniment - whilst putting up the christmas decorations.

To include the option of adding music to the Header Slideshow I have embedded 'Six Smooth Jazz You Tube Christmas Compilations.' to the wb page. The visitor can then start whichever one they prefer and then scroll back to the top of the web page to watch the slideshow whilst listening to their personal choice.

I wanted to add the You Tube Christmas music to the 'Amazing Audio Player' that I included on the Home Page but copyright restrictions wouldn't allow it. So I have just added some of the singer's own songs into the Audio Player instead.

By the way, Wow Slider does provide the option of adding music to their slideshows but it plays automatically with no way to turn it off.

Again, apologies for waffling on but I just wanted to try and explain everything I have tried to achieve. I am still only learning so Hopefully I may become more aware of how to tackle these type of problems in the future.

However, I would like to try and keep everthing within Website X5, if possible, and hope that the developers can update their Sldeshows and Audio Players as, although I was able to use external sources to achieve what I set out to do,  I also had to manually add all of the additional CSS and HTML code for the Wow Slider and Audio Player to each individual page of my website myself - which can be a bit of a butt clenching experience - if you are someone like me who doesn't really have a full underatanding of what I am actually doing.

Thanks again to everyone for their valued, and very much appreciated, input.

Wishing a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

If you would like to see what I have tried to achive please visit the following Becky Bennett website I created with Website X5 Evolution 13.

Thanks

Hello Mike

A merry X-mas to you too - and to all on this forum.

It is really nice to know how things that are suggested, is being used, or at least is used as input. And good to see how the "final" result is. It is a nice site you have made - and a good idea to have it look like the background changes "behind" the persons. I also use wow-slider. I now intend to have it on the home-page ( http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/ ) and on some of the other pages ( http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/sideskabelon.html )

It is only a very early testphase. The homepage does not look good when seen in Edge and IE. It is the X5 fix-parallax that bumps up and down, when scrolling. I don't know what to do about this. It is reported to INCOMEDIA. I hope they will soon get it fixed.

Kind regards

John S.

Hi John,

Thank you for your speedy reply - and also for your positive comments regarding my Becky Bennett website.

Since including the Wow Slider I have discovered another slider called 'Magic Slider and Carousel', on Code Canyon.

This slider states that it can include an unlimited number of layers so it might be just what I am looking for - and at only $3 I think it might be worth giving it a try.

There is also another slider called 'Amazing Slider' by the same company that make the 'Amazing Audio Player' that I included on the Home Page.

I know what you mean about the Internet Explorer browser. I have had no end of problems - especially in regards to the positioning of text - when using Internet Explorer. The text is just where I want it in Website X5 but when viewed in Internet Explorer it is all out of alignment.

Please see one of my other posts addressing this issue.

However, by using the 'Shinystat Hit Counter' feature available within Website X5, I can see that most of the visitors to my websites use Firefox and, as everything I create with Website X5 seems to work okay in Firefox, that is the browser I tend to stick with.

My websites seem to work okay in Chrome as well.

As to how the websites look on a Mac - I have no idea as I have never had the chance to view my websites on a Mac.

Anyway John, thanks again for your reply and I will post further information here as, and when, I create any updates.

Best regards,

Mike.

Hello Mike

Please let me know when you have an example of the "magic slider" and how handy it is regarding the X5.

Did you buy the audio-player bundled with the slider and the caroussel ? or is it the free-version you are using ?

For your information - The http://www.beckybennett.info has a rather heavy loading time for mobiles. Google has some test-tools online, where you can test the mobile speed and mobile-friendlyness.

Maybe it is a matter of removing some stuff for the mobile-viewport. Unfortunately more users, use a mobile device to connect to the web - I still optimize my sites for desktop and at a resolution 1920 x 1080. This is where users can enjoy a good visual graphic layout.

Kind regards

John S.

Hi John,

Apologies once again for the delay in posting a reply.

Hopefully, all will be back to normal in the New Year.

In regards to your enquiries John...

Both the 'WOW Slider' and the 'Amazing Audio Player' that are on the 'Home Page' of my Becky Bennett website are from two different companies.

Both of them are the 'Demo' versions.

'WOW Player' allows any amount of images, and transitions, to be used in the 'Demo' version - but will always have the small 'WOW Slider' watermark in the bottom right hand corner of each image - until the full version is purchased.

'Amazing Audio Player' allows three songs only to be used in the 'Demo' version - but many more can be added in the 'Full' paid for version. Also, only a few of the 'audio player designs' are allowed to be used. Again, the full range of 'audio player designs' would be available once the 'Full' program has been purchased. I will definitely purchase this program but, for now, three songs were sufficient for my immediate rerquirements.

With regards to 'The Magic Slider'.

I havn't purchased this program yet and, as there is no 'Demo' or 'Trial' currently avaiable, I won't know how the slider will perform until I buy it. However, I will definitely buy the Magic Slider program and will let you know as soon as I have incorporated it into the website.

I was surprised to hear that you had a problem with loading times for the Becky Bennett website John - when viewing the website on a mobile phone - and thank you for bringing this to my attention. However, I have experienced no problems with the dealy in loading times myself, when viewing the Becky Bennett website on either Android Mobile Phones - or Android Tablets - with the loading times just as quick as on a desktop computer or laptop - with no loading  delay, or black space where the header should be whatsoever. The pages just load immediately - and just as quick as when viewed on a desktop computer.

A lot of my friends have viewed the website on their phones and tablets too and, from the feedback I have received, the website loads just as quickly on their mobile devices as it does on a their desktop computers, or laptops.

None of us are on super fast 50 or 100mb fibre broadband - just the normal 20mb connection which gives an average speed of around 12 to 13mbs.

Therefore, I am really at a loss as to why you should find it to be quite slow.

But, once again, thank you for letting me know and I will definitely look into the problem a bit further.

In regards to resolution.

Like yourself John, I create all of my websites at 1920 x 1080 - with the central area set at a width of 1060 - which I found to be the best width in regards to mobiles or tablets - with the text and images on the webpage being just about the right distance from the edge to be aesthetically pleasing.

However, the one problem I always had with this was that I always had to pay particular attention to the Header and Footer as, although everything I put in the header was visible at 1920x1080 - if you viewed the website at 1600x900 then you would lose some of the left hand side and right hand side of the header and anything in that particular area would not be visible. This was even more of a problem when viewed on a tablet whereby you would only see within the header what was in the 1060 width of the tablet so, consequently, you would lose quite a lot more of the header content. This would consequently cut people off from either side if there was a group shot in the header.

I did not want to go down the responsive route when creating websites with Website X5 as, quite frankly, I do not have the time, or patience, to spend too much time on learning it.

However, as I am happy enough with the 1060 width for the body of the page - even when viewed at 1920 - I now no longer have to worry about losing content from the header when viewed at a resolution less than 1920, as WOW Slider automatically responsively resizes the header so that everything I design in the header at 1920 fits into whatever screen resolution the website is viewed at. This means that, apart from having a slideshow in the header section, I can also set WOW Slider up to display just a constant single image in the header instead.

Hope this has been helpful John.

Best regards,

Mike.

Hi KolAsim,

Thank you for your post.

I have looked at your audio players and the one that would be best suited to me would be Example 3 and example 5.

I like these because they do not add a mini webpage around the player.

I would need to be able to add a number of songs, with individual titles, to the player though.

Thank you for your input.

Best reagrds,

Mike

I did not want to go down the responsive route when creating websites with Website X5 as, quite frankly, I do not have the time, or patience, to spend too much time on learning it.

Mike, I find this approach to be very unusual. In my opinion, when the vast majority of Internet users are viewing websites on phones and small tablets, I see little or no value in creating a static website.

Hi Myron,

Thank you for your post.

Firstly, I am not a website designer and have no desire to be one.

I have purely created the websites I have created so far as a hobby and, to be honest, as these are my first attempts at creating websites, and with no prior knowledge of website design then, on the whole, I do not think they have turned out too bad.

www.beckybennett.info

www.keedie.info

Secondly, I do not have the time, inclination or patience to mess around with responsive websites - and all of the cross browser problems, and idiosyncrasies that the Website X5 program throws up.

I have encountered enough problems when using Website X5 in relation to creating static websites - than to burden myself with further headaches - when adding the prospect of responsive websites into the mix.

Also, as responsive websites seem to throw everything around on the webpage, in order to supposedly render it more favourably viewable on tablets and phones, this can often throw the aesthetics of the design off kilter.

I have found that as everything salient fits down the centre of the webpage when the 'Body' of the web page is sized at 1060 width, and displays perfectly on any sized desktop or tablet or phone, and stays exactly where I have placed it, then I am quite happy with that.

The only problem I really had was with the fact that the sides of the 'Header' would be cut off, if creating the website at a width of 1920 and then viewing it at 1600 width on a laptop, or 1060 width, as in the case of the tablet resolution. This invariably meant that anything important within the 'Header' even though it stretched across a width of 1920, had to fit within the 1060 width for it to be visible on tablets and phones.

However, with 'WOW Slider' automatically resizing the 'Header' to display everything created within the 'Header' when created at a width of 1920 - no matter what resolution the website may be viewed at - I now no longer have the problem of parts of the 'Header' being cut off and concealed from view.

Thank you for your input,

Regards,

Mike.

Hi KolAsim,

Thank you for your reply.

I like your Audio Player ideas, but the implementation of the coding in order to achieve the desired effect is a little beyond my level of expertise.

I will just have to wait and see if Incomedia will come up with a way of integrating a solution into website X5.

In the meantime, thank you very much for your input.

Very best regards,

Mike.

Hi KolAsim,

Apologies, but I initially failed to look at the scmplayer.net link you kindly included and only looked at the code in the example 5 link.

That is why I said that it looked like it was beyond my level of expertise - because I could only see the code in example 5  and, because of my lack of experience, I was unable to make any sense of it.

This was a fault on my part.

However, I have now looked at the scmplayer.net webpage you kindly provided a link for and, as you quite rightly say, it looks very simple indeed to create a continuous - across all web pages - audio player.

I particularly like the fact that you are able to link to You Tube urls.

I will have a go at it quite soon and will post again when I have done so.

Thanks again for the links and apologies, once again, for failing to initially click on the link to the scmplayer.net web page.

Best regards,

Mike.

Hi KolAsim,

Just been playing around with creating an 'Audio Player' in scmplayer.net.

Absolutely love it.  So simple to create and with lots of personalization options.

I will definitely use it in future updates in conjunction with You Tube music videos.

This will be a much better option than I used on the Home Page of my  www.beckybennett.info  website - where I had to embed six Christmas music videos into the webpage in order to give visitors the option of listening to some music whilst watching the 'Header' slideshow.

The problem here was that the music would stop if the visitor navigated away from the Home Page.

With the SCM Audio Player, if a visitor to the website would like to hear some music whilst they are browsing the website then they will now have the option of navigating all of the pages of the website with no interruption to the music whatsoever - unless they decide to stop the music from playing.

I also like the fact that the music doesn't automatically start playing as soon as the page loads, as this can often induce a visitor to immediately leave a website if they cannot find the off button.

I have found that it is a definite no no to bombard a visitor to the website with a choice of automatically playing music that they may have no desire listen to - and have them frantically looking for the button to stop the music - or even worse, clicking on the Back Button to go elsewhere, I only wanted to allow the visitor the option of listening to some music to accompany the slideshow, or whilst navigating the website, if they only really wanted to - and this is an option the the SCM Audio player achieves admirably.

I also like the fact that you can display the Play list or not, and also that you can view the original video on You Tube by clicking on the title of the song that is playing.

Also the player is so discreet as it sits unobtrusively at either the top, or the bottom, of the screen.

Cannot wait to implement it into my websites.

Thanks again for drawing my attention to it.

Very best regards and a Happy New Year to both you, John, Giuseppe, Myron and Claudio.

Mike.

Hi, and a Happy new year to all.

I really like the SCM Player at scmplayer.net - recommended to me by KolAsim - but I have a problem which I hope someone may be able to help me with.

The player works perfectly in Website X5, and does everthing it promises. It sits at the top of the screen and remains there, playing music continuously whilst I navigate through all of the pages of my Becky Bennett website.

http://www.beckybennett.info/

The player is evident on every web page - with full control over the player buttons so that I can start, pause, or end the music whenever I like. I can even pause the music whilst on one page, and then start the music again from the same place, on another page, without going back to the beginning of the music again.

The problem I have is as follows:

If I only add just the SCM Player to Website X5 everything works perfectly. However, when combined with the other two features on my web site - that being the 'WOW Slider' in the Header section and the 'Amazing Audio Player' on the Home Page in the Body section, everything screws up. The pages become all messed up with everything either all over the place or not displaying at all.

If I remove the WOW Slider and the Amazing Audio Player and leave just the SCM Player the pages load perfectly.

If I remove the SCM Player and leave just the WOW Slider and the Amazing Audio Player the pages load perfectly.

However, if I try to include all three features then I have the problem mentioned above.

I have tried adding the code for the SCM Player directly within Website X5 by way of the HTML drag and drop widget and I have also exported the website as a HTML file and added the SCM Player code manually to the Body section.

But whatever I do I still have the same problem.

I would really like to include ther SCM PLayer in my Becky Bennett website but not at the expense of losing the WOW Slider or the Amazing Audio Player.

I can only assume that there is a confliction somewhere when trying to add all of the three  individual codes but I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination and the solution is beyond my level of expertise.  Therefore, if anyone should know why this problem may be occuring, and could let me know, it would be very much appreciated.

The only other external code I have on the the Home Page is a 'Countdown Timer'.

Thanks,

Mike,

Hi KolAsim,

Thank you for your reply and for your suggestions and assistance.

Unfortunately, this all seems a bit beyond my level of experience and I don't really have the time, or the inclination, to be spending too much time trying get the SCM Player code to work with other codes already on my website.

Therefore, as far as the Becky Bennett website is concerned, I will just have to wait until scmplayer.net make their code more adaptable to coincide, and perfrom perfectly, alongside other codes already implemented on a web page.

In the meantime, I will use the SCM Player on other websites where I do not use the WOW Player or the Amazing Audio Player.

Thank you very much again for your help.

Best

fegards,

Mike.

Hi Again,

Re the SCM Player.

I will come straight to the point.... I just cannot get the SCM Player player to work for me.

I would like to make it perfectly clear, however, that I am not saying that the SCM Player does not work per se - although I have found no other website incorporating it into their design in order for me to form an impartial opinion - just that the SCM Player does not work for me.

The SCM Player works perfectly on the www.scmplayer.net website, where I create it, but it does not; and I repeat, does not work in Website X5 - either when adding the code into the <body> section within the Website X5 program directly, or by adding the code indirectly to the <body> section of the html once the web site has been exported from Website X5 as a html file.

The same goes for the identical audio player created at the www.wikplayer.com website.

Both of the audio players function perfectly on their respective websites, but refuse to work within Website X5.

At first, I thought that the problem was down to the fact that the website where I would like to include the SCM Player

www.beckybennett.info

includes externally added code, within the <head>, and <body>, sections for the WOW Slider Header and the Amazing Audio Player, and the Countdown Timer, and that somehow the codes may be causing a conflict when confronted with the SCM Player code - even though all three original codes exist in harmony together when not confronted with the SCM Player code - but this is not the case.

I am now fully aware of this because I have, for the purpose of this experiment, now created basic websites with no extra external code added whatsoever and I still am faced with the same problem when adding the SCM Player code to them.

Here is what I do - and I will try and make it as brief, and succinct, as possible.

First, I create the audio player in scmplayer.net - whereby I choose the option of linking to You Tube music videos.

The player performs perfectly in the scmplayer.net website.

I then copy and paste the code created in the scmplayer.net website to the Home Page of my website - exactly where I am instructed to do so - which is directly below the <body> tag.

However, when I then open the Home Page I am presented with a blank white page.

If I remove the SCM Player code then the Home Page displays perfectly.

I have tried this on a couple of websites.

Without the SCM Player code inserted into the html the websites display perfectly.

With the SCM Player code inserted the websites just display a blank white screen.

Whilst I am very appreciative of KolAsim's 'exclusive method, div_custom + iframe' offer - this is way beyond my level of expertise and, to be honest, if the code generated at scmplayer.net is supposed to be that easy to implement then, in my humble opinion, there should be no problem implenting it.

I can only assume that the SCM Player code generated, when creating the player at scmplayer.net is missing some salient snippet of code in order for it to work with websites created with Website X5 or that the structure of websites created with Website X5 does not allow for the SCM Player code to work.

Either way, I have found the whole process extremely frustrating.

I would really like to add the SCM Player to my website and I just want it to work as promised - just like the code for the WOW Slider and Amazing Audio Player and the Countdown Timer does.

For the convenience of any visitor reading this post I have included the snippet of code I created at scmplayer.net for inclusion below the <body> tag of my website - just in case anyone with a greater understanding of how the code works may be able to see a fault anywhere within the code that could be causing this issue.

Thanks, in anticipation, for any assistance provided.

The code created for the player at scmplayer.net - which I have to insert directly after the <body> tag is as follows:

<!-- SCM Music Player http://scmplayer.co -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://scmplayer.co/script.js"
data-config="{'skin':'skins/scmRed/skin.css','volume':59,'autoplay':false,'shuffle':false,'repeat':1,'placement':'top','showplaylist':false,'playlist':[{'title':'Let It Snow','url':'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2uvtl-1V70'},{'title':'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town','url':'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6Lp0i_I34w'},{'title':'Rockin%27 Around The Christmas Tree','url':'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxHL36aJvGU'}]}" ></script>
<!-- SCM Music Player script end -->

Thanks,

Mike.

Hi KolAsim,

Thanks for you reply.

I have changed the ( autoplay':false ) to ( autoplay':true ) as you have suggested - but the same problem still occurs.

Even with the change in the code from ( false to true ) the page still just shows a blank white screen when opened.

If I remove the SCM Player code - with the code alteration - then the Home Page displays perfectly again.

I feel that there must be a problem with the code that the SCM Player generates.

I feel they need to address this issue as it should not be this difficult to get a piece of code to work.

Unfortunately, they do not have a support page where I can present my problem to them.

Nor can I find any other websites incorporating the scmplayer code for comparison.

Also, I am not the only person experiencing this problem.

Researching this problem has shown a number of users have the same issue.

Thanks again for your input and I just hope that someone, somewhere, knows how to solve this problem.

Best regards,

Mike.
