In v16 when I add HTML code to a Text Object they don't work correctly

When I add HTML code to a Text Object using the "enable HTML code" facility, it doesn't work when exported. Instead of displaying the correct HTML "<>" tags, it converts them to ASCII code, eg, < and >.
As a result, instead of activating the HTML correctly it prints out the code in ASCII format as follows:
<div class="mech">abcdefgh etc </div>
Can you please provide a solution to ensure that HTML code is displayed correctly.
Sample enclosed.
Thanks

Brian, on rare occasions I have used this, but the trick is to ensure that before typing/inserting any html code, the "enable html code" button must be active. When it is there will be a light blue square around it. Any html written when in this state will display correctly in preview and online (but will be visible as ascii text in compose mode whether active or not). If the code fragment is faulty, you will see it as ascii text when online or preview.
