I can not install version 16. The installer tells me that WIN7 is needed, but I already have WIN 10! Where is the error?  en

Is win10 up to date?


See that win10 is fully up to date and try again. Else try without firewall/virus scanner.

What windows version is there?

check windows key and I, goto settings and about.

please provide edition version like win10 home, version 1803 and system type (64 or 32 bit)

Hi Marcel.

This is a very weird error, which I believe might be due to some kind of issue in your current Windows installation, since such issue was never reported by one of our users.

In any case, before jumping directly to a possible reset of Windows, try the following and let me know the result:

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 and then click on OK. 
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 and then click ok.

After having done this, report back to me here

Make sure you are trying to install the 64 bit version of the software. Use the download link in your profile here in the Forum to ensure you have the correct installer (and if you already did that, make sure the install file under your profile is the correct one!)

Hi Marcel,

If you're unsure whether your Windows is currently updated to the latest version, try checking that and try again.

If none of the above solutions worked, as I mentioned earlier, it might be due to some kind of issue in your current Windows installation, which is unfortunately impossible to debug in its entirety for us.

At this point I would like to ask you to try and install the software on a different machine, or should you need the program installed on this computer specifically, eventually consider resetting your Windows installation anew in order to get the software to install correctly.

Unfortunately, it seems something is off in your installation, for which reason the errors is popping out to you exclusively.

Let me know if I can provide any further support on the matter

1. Unfortunately I do not know how to find out the current version of windows.
2. I have an official version purchased with a new laptop
3. I'm pretty sure that the same bug is reported to me even when I try to install a lower version (website v.13) even though I originally installed this version without any problems
4. I did not change the windows settings, I just installed the drivers to the new printer, but there were some problems, so I had to change the choice of the basic language (from the original Czech to the English), but I changed the settings without changing them.
5. I also had a trial version of the AVAST antivirus program installed, but I removed it immediately
6. try to install on another PS unfortunately for now, do not try

Marcel, since all else has failed, have you downloaded and run either Malwarebytes or Superantispyware (both free) in case something is interferring with windows?

Are you are letting WX5 install in the default location?

One drive hasn't been incorrectly set and is trying to synchronise? (if in doubt, right click on onedrive (usually with hidden icons bottom right) and shut it down)

To check your version of Windows, click on settings (click start button and then the gear normally on the left), then select System and down the bottom select About (shortcut WIN+I) - but you appear to know the answer because you replied to Andre above with win10 home, ver 1803, 64 bit

You should be able to download a new copy of WX5 from your profile (top right). Click your login name, click Download menu option and download the program.
