Unable to update Evolution to 16.3  en

While attempting to update X5 Evolution from 16.2.1 to 16.3.1, after accepting the terms and conditions, I receive the following error message:

"It was not possible to install the files on your computer.
Please verify that all programs are closed and restart the update."

I am running Windows 10, which is fully updated. I rebooted my PC and attempted to update without any programs other than anti-virus is running. I get the same results. I have tried several times over several days, so I am pretty sure it is not a connection issue on my end (I can upload/download just fine).

Patrick, the problem may actually be your antivirus, however, have you tried going to your profile (top right this page), click download and download the latest new version to install locally rather than across the web?

I've suppressed the anti-virus and tried to update with no luck.

I also went to see if I could download the latest version. It says I have no downloads, which seems to be another problem.

I've tried to add my license, and that doesn't seem to do anything either - no message or anything other than reloading the webpage.

Any other recommendations?

Anti-virus: Bitdefender

Browser: Chrome

I just tried Microsoft Edge and was able to see my license and download file. I'm installing now. If I have further problems, I'll create a help thread. Otherwise, this issue can be considered individually resolved.

I recommend understanding why Chrome has a problem with seeing the license and download. Also, understanding why the update server connection would be blocked by Bitdefender would also be a good idea.

Patrick, I can not explain why your copy of chrome failed to display your license and download file, although it may be that the cache needs flushing (ctrl+f5).

As for Bitdefender (or any other anti-virus), it is impossible for Incomedia to control which virus signatures are used by the various companies and therefore the occasional false positive that for a time blocks certain programs and installs.
