Pages stored in sub-folders  en

Hi - I would like to build a simple security gate which allows members of a club to access a members-only page.

Not all of the users have email, so the standard Website X5 system won't work - they can't all register.

My web hosting service allow me to set a password for any given folder (directory) on my website.

How can I store a page (e.g. members.html) in a sub-folder user x5 ?

In my ideal design - all standard pages would be in the "public" directory.

... and my members page would be in e.g.  "public/members" directory.

Does X5 support this ?   Could the page-levels facility help ?

hello Jem

All X5 pages is in the root ( the root is where you upload your project ).

You could have a "normal" site you upload to the root of your domain.

Then you make a subfolder.

You make a "membership project". A project that is all about the membership.

This project you upload to the subfolder.

Then - from your "normal" site you have a menu item that directs to the membership "site" in the subfolder ( The link is to the home-page or to another page for the member site.

You must beware - there is no page-levels. All levels is in the projects root. Even if the menu seems to have levels ( and it has ) then all pages is in the same level.

What I describe in the former post, would make all pages accessible by all users, that is allowed to login to the folder.

You could make more subfolders if you want different areas for groups of users.

If the problem is only about email, then you can use "fake" email addresses, create pages for users or group of users by using protected pages, and this way use the "normal" way to have member-pages.
