I have 32 bit windows 7 computer.   I dediced to try and install the software on this computer  after

several attempts to install / uninstall on my window 10 64 bit computer and preview never worked.  I installed three or four times maybe more at different times and day.  Due to my tight work schedule.

The problem still exists.   Tried different browsers   still problem remains.   Tried activating on my windows 7...  Guess this is not an option either.    Please help me load the software on both and

have it work the way you have offered it.

James, if you cannot install on either a clean Win10 or a Win 7 PC this is very odd. I recently installed WX5 on a newly rebuilt Win10 PC, but could not install the program until I added C++ and .NET, I followed the details provided by Riccardo here https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/197248

and here provided by Stefano https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/198301

Download the Visual C++ 2013 installer available on following link (you need to download the x86 version also if the OS is 64bit):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
In case this should not help try to use before this repair tool http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 and then try again to start WebSite X5.

Also reinstall both x86 and x64 versions of the following:

2012 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
2013 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

(I also found it necessary to install both x86 & x64)

.NET

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 and then click on OK. 
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 and then click ok.

I note above that your primary issue was with preview, in the post (where Riccardo provided a solution), the user found the issue ultimately turned out to be her firewall. Can you (temporarily) turn off your firewall and of course disable 3rd party anti-virus, malware, vpn, synched directories (one drive?) etc whilst attempting install. 

Are these standalone PC's or perhaps on a corporate network where the administrator may have put in place certain restrictions?

I successfully installed 14 WX5 versions on this new clean PC, but only after the above.

Thank you for your help.   I have reinstalled  c and net, the problem remains.  I am now considering 

going to pay pal and requesting monies for this product.   I unable to move forward as If I try and reinstall I will receive the same err notice... Too many activations.   Installing on a clean pc is not an option for me.    I run a business and cannot delete my files and programs that run correctly on windows 10....   I have looked at the file structure and see;  This PC / Documents / Iconmedia / Website x5 - Pro / dstudio    folder breakdown (dstudio) under shows (3 folders)  Backup, Library and Preview.       All folders in dstudio are empty,   There is no build of the website.  Per your manual there should be a file structure that  Website x5 Pro engine should be building..    Awaiting your reply.

James, I have marked this post for Incomedia's attention. If you have had the program for less than 30 days there should be no need to go to paypal.

Whilst you await Incomedia's response you my wish to uninstall WX5 and also go to c:\users\yourname\appdata\ local and delete the Incomedia folder (turn on show hidden folders if you cannot see appdata). Since you seem to have previously successfully installed Website X5 Go this may indicate a corruption in this folder.

Once deleted, please download WX5 from your profile and reinstall (just once more? :-)

It is a concern that you say there is a project folder without content however. There should be a number of files in this directory.

I thank you for your input.   Not sure if I will have the opportunity to reinstall due to Activation issues and will be unable to provide documentation or testing of this problem..   I am assuming if I am having the problem.    There are others that are too.....   Seems to me that Iconmedia would be on this quickly,  this is there product and we are spending much time try to resolve, while they are getting paid for it.    No response from the them from Iconmedia event to or acknowledgement on their part.  More screen shot of the issue.....

Scenario:   Used Import feature.    x5 went thru the process. Import done

Step 2      Used the Start Arrow to move forward thru the project, selected the Check Link

top right corner. 

Step 2a    Went to Template content then Header, Header is editable, Left click Check Mark

top right hand corner.   

Step 3     Went to preview-  Show a blank screen in Google Chrome with the Ip address of

"about blank" displays.   No Header displayed. 

Step 4   Went to the iconmedia folder via Documents, this is what I found in the preview folder.

file:///C:/Users/jcass/Documents/Incomedia/WebSite%20X5%20-%20Pro/dStudio%201/Preview/index.html

Google chrome is not displaying  the correct folder.    

Still unable to edit the Text Context on website pages.   Still something is corrupt,  Not sure

where to go further....

Hello James,

What are the names of the folders you presently have on your system at C:\Users\cjass\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro ?

The information you have supplied above and screenshots suggest that you have at least two projects in that folder...  one called dStudio and another called dStudio 1

WebSite X5 will see these as completely different projects, even though the names are extremely similar.

The Incomedia support staff were on holiday today (https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/210984), but they will be back tomorrow.

I was using this at a test.   I would prefer to delete the entire software package and do a clean instal...

Please provide instruction to delete all ....   Please ensure that I will be able to activate the software after

providing instructions for removal and clean install of x5

James, the information I provided is for a totally clean install (uninstall and then delete c:\users\yourname\appdata\local\Incomedia). You can choose to delete the Incomedia folder in my documents as well if you wish, but this is not a necessity.

Hopefully a new install will activate, but if not try disconnect your internet from your PC and follow this link https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/25631 (I am pretty sure it still works). This should get you up and running.

I followed the instruction.... Still have the problem.   No preview and cannot edit the

Text of the website....   Unlock key  says to many activations.

I have found this in the WebInstallerLog20190427_0.log

C:\Users\jcass\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebInstaller

Seems as though there is a installation error associated with license key.

I downloaded from my license x5 pro, to ensure that the file was not damage

during download.  

Further trubshooting..  I notice that in preferences there is no add button to add

fonts.

When trying to preview the website using  google chrome   the blank  website has a ip address of 127.0.0.1

When to folder C:\Users\jcass\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\Transport/Preview/index.html

Was able to view the website.

Additional problem is editing Website pages     example

click the Start Arrow proceed to Map  Select HomePage  Click Start arrow (top right hand corner) select text Icon on page double click.  Text icon opens to text editor, text editor, display editing field, editing field blank and unable to add or edit any text that displays in the small preview window to the left of editing field.  

Frustrating waiting for Inconmedia to assist.

Would really like to beable to use this product.

Continue with trubshooting...   found the config xml  and license iwl file 

from C:\Users\jcass\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\

Per error notice     iwl file is not found (shows in folder),   and in the config xml file is where

the ip address 127.0.0.1 maybe instructing the Chrome Browser to use this ip

address for the preview.  

Since IWL file is part of the licensing of the software and could be corrupt or not associated correctly with the x5 Pro program / Script.   Unable to read the file to ascertain its function.

I am well within my 30 days and believe I have enough documentation if I need to

request a refund from a non functioning software.   Waiting for inconmedia :(

continue trubshooting.   After several removals and reinstall of  x5 pro, and

turning off Windows Defender and Avg Internet and Security software, was still

unsucessful, problem remained.    Decided to turn off Windows defender and Unstall

avg security, will reinstall avg  if this next attempt is sucessfull reinstalling x5 Pro.

after each attempt I check to see if the Log file shows error regarding License IWL 

file.

uninstalled Avg and Windows Defender is turned off.   Decided to install using Windows

compatibility program to document any issues,  Used problem not listed in the options

for Windows Compatibility and continued with the Install.   Install is successful and

checked the Log file (not error file created).    Check the Config file and see that Config

xml file was also created sucessfully...     imported website using w5 import file.   Import

sucessfull,  used Arrows to move thru website,  Preview works find and also can edit

the text files on pages.   Finally this things works....

I hope this trubshooting helps others that may have this problem.

James, on the face of it the problem appeared to be AVG??? Once fully uninstalled all was well??
