Another question. I would be grateful for your help. I have built a totally new site with a new template, after the trouble I had. I have copied and pasted files from the old site though. I have uploaded three times and each time it does not reflect all the new work I have put onto the new site.
It shows the outline of the new template but none of the new text I used. I made a point of saving several times but it does not seem to reflect the save. Is there anything I need to do in settings when I use a new template to make it upload as I intended it to be. If you have any suggestions please could you let me know. Kind Regards valerie

Hello Valerie,
If you are uploading to the same domain as previously (which I assume you are) then this could be a simple browser cache issue.
To check (in your browser, not in WebSite X5), hold down the CTRL key whilst pressing F5. Or open your website in an incognito/inPrivate browsing window.
Please let us know if you then see your site as intended.
Kind regards,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your suggestions. I did try what you suggested. I then uploaded again. It still reflects both the old and the new websites.
I will try again tomorrow.
Thanks again
Before trying to upload yet again, Valerie, could you this time hold down the CTRL key whilst entering the Preview mode in WebSite X5 itself... then export your site to the server as usual in Step 5... then clear your browser cache again by holding down the CTRL key whilst pressing F5.
If having done this you still don't see your site as you should, then very carefully check all the details you have entered in Step 5 with regards to your server/hosting account.

Hi thanks, Paul,
I did try what you suggest. I also saved the file to to a folder on my internet explorer and deleted it all the projects on website x5. I then restarted the pc before importing back into x5. I cleared all the cache on my computer using the Clear memory cache for website x5 pro from my list of apps. That didn't do it.
The file opens perfectly when I preview it in the the project itself it is when I upload it and check "your website is now online" that it is all higgely piggidy.
I think you are right in suggesting that it could be details I have entered in step 5. The website address URL is correct. The server type is correct FTP address is correct, username and password is correct. Simultaneous connections and port are correct. I think it is the destination folder because I have done a lot of work over the years and there are a number of folders that could upset it. Everytime I try to enter another folder it says unable to connect to server. Incorrect destination Folder.
Thanks again for your help. Do you think this could be the problem.
Take care and have a good day.
Valerie

Forgot to mention that at the moment my destination folder is just a backslash. /
All previous files have uploaded onto that folder.

Another thing it says is the "Specified folder already contains some files that may be overwritten do you want to continue.
Is there a way I can delete all the folders from previous projects and only be able to upload this one file without the message above? I deleted the / it did upload without question.
Valerie, can you provide a link to your site?
Is it possible to open your site as yourdomain.com/index.html. yourdomain.com/index.php and maybe even yourdomain.com/home.html?
- just in case an old index file is opening instead of the new one.
I believe Esahc is on to something, Valerie... please compare the following links:
http://www.pianocompositionsrecitals.com/index.html
http://www.pianocompositionsrecitals.com/home.html
Did you at any stage use an Entry Page for your WebSite X5 project?
If you click the icon shown in the screenshot below then it will take you to a screen where you can delete files and folders currently on the server:
In this way you will be able to purge any older files which you no longer require.
Please see the help file for full instructions:

Hi Paul,
I did at one stage use an enty page. Although I have cancelled it numerous times it seems to show up every time
Esahc is Right Paul. When I opened it in http://www.pianocompositionsrecitals.com/index.html ..It is perfect... When I open it in http://www.pianocompositionsrecitals.com/home.html it brings up the old project.
Thank you so much. I just have to try what you have just suggested I do.
Have a great day.

Hi Paul.
I have had some joy. when I uploaded there was no homehtml only index html. so everything was correct. The only thing I seem to have now is that I lost the hamburger button. I think due to all my trying I music have selected something where only the menu's showed on the top of the page. This becomes a little distorted when I scroll down the page.
I wish I knew more about website development. I must admit though due to this problem I am very much more the wiser.
Take care
Glad to hear you've made progress, Valerie.
If you want the hamburger button to show at all times then select the option shown below in Step 2:
This screen is accessed by clicking on the menu icon itself in Template Content.
