How to create a drop down menu in Evo 2019.2?  en

We have used Website X5 since 2014 for our school's website. We set it up in Evolution 10, and recently upgraded to Evo 2019.2. But unfortunately, some formatting does not work properly and we even had to get help from Incomedia's developers just to optimize the iwzip file to try to work on it in 2019.2. They have also recommended completely rebuilding the entire site in the new Evo 2019.2.

So what I would like to know, if anyone could help, is how to create a drop down menu in Evo 2019.2? I have been at it for days, have read through multiple threads, used the help option, so am posting here as a last resort! The current website is on http://ststephensbns.com/ - and we would like to have the menu as close to that as possible - the buttons are not a worry but to have the drop down menu is kind of a must! I just can't seem to find how to do this in 2019.2.

Any and all help or advice would be very greatly appreciated!

The menu is now inside the menu object. So place the menu object where you want the menu for every viewport. if it is in the template (normaly but not needed anymore in this version)

Use the colours on the left for different viewports (template content), use the colours on top of the preview to check the menu for every viewport.

double click the menu object and use TAB level menu.

See to it that the menu items ( the main items) fit in the menu object. If it does not fit x5 will create an button called the hamburgermenu.

So make sure there is enough room, eather by making the menu object bigger (but not outside the template space, then you have to mke the template bigger)

Or make the menu smaller (smaller letters or less items)

So the answer is a combination of several things, but all are focussed on getting enough room to get the menu in the space from the template / object.

If it fit's you will see the menu itself in the menu object. (see prtscrn below)

menu items fit in the space that template has:

after that you can create the level menu as usual (red circle)

prtscrn of menu that does not fit:

the screens are for biggest viewport (pc) see red line on the left.

It's better to make smaller viewports at least black and yellow, but with a many items in the menu mayby also the green viewport, to switch to the hamburgermenu, it's better viewable for people with smaller screens.

Hope this helps.

I have tried that but I keep getting that "hamburger" icon instead of the menu I want, with all the levels I want. Is there a way to have the menu as a drop down menu, and not appearing to the side as a side bar?

Yes check my post again, I have added prtscrns, but it is not advisible for the smaller screens!

You could also make the object higher so you get 2 row's, this way there can be more menu items inside the object.

Take care that the menu object is always within the space created by in the template structure.

Hi Trystan,

as Andre suggested, the hamburger menu is shown if there isn't enough space for the normal menu entries to be displayed correctly: in order to display the normal menu, you please need to make the Menu Object bigger, so it has the necessary space available.

Please let me know if I can be of further help. Kind regards.
