Hi guys
I work from home and obviously Website X5 is very important for me (I am still learning the program) but I regularly have to get up from my PC for various reasons and leave my PC unattended to return later and continue my Website project.
It is on returning to the program the first thing I do either crash Website X5 or freeze up the program.
How can I determine the problem or is it something else ?
Regards
Christo

Hello Christo,
Try temporarily disabling any antivirus you have running. In almost all cases problems like this are caused by such.
If that cures the issue then you can add a permanent exception for WebSite X5 to your antivirus/firewall rules.
If it doesn't then you could also try doing a quick check on both your RAM (memory) and hard disk/solid state disk, although it would be strange if any failures on these items affected WebSite X5 only.
Windows also has an administrative tool called the Event Viewer, which contains numerous logs which can often help in making a diagnosis. Try searching for it from the Search bar within Windows.
Finally, are you absolutely certain that the program has actually frozen? The reason I ask is that WebSite X5 can sometimes take quite a while to start up and/or resume from sleep, etc. as there are quite a few housekeeping tasks which it performs in the background. On slower/older hardware it might look as if it has crashed, when in fact it is just temporarily 'busy'.
Most genuine crashes will result in an error message of sorts being displayed on screen. Do you receive any such notification?
Kind regards,
Paul

Hi Paul
Thanx for the advice. I have now added it to my "Avast Anti-virus" exception list and will monitor it closely :)

Hi Paul
I only now saw the 2nd part of your reply. I checked up on event viewer and although I dont fully understand it, it looks like some .dll files (As indicated in the report hereunder) may have failed at the time I experienced the crash. However, I may also be a bit impatient as I always expec my PC to keep up with me so that may be a thing :D
However. I will see what happens over the next few days and add info here should it be neccessary.
Thanx
Christo
