When trying to export my website to the internet, I get an error that says "Unable to connect to server, Generic error. Could not find part of the path C:\WINDOWS\system32\res\admin\libraries\test.class.php.
I have zero clue what this means. How do I fix this?
Thanks

Hello Samantha,
With reference to the screenshot below, what values do you have entered in both fields highlighted in red?
Kind regards,
Paul

The website address URL is http://michiganflemishgiants.com
The destination folder is /public_html/mfg/
This is my first time doing a website and I honestly don't know anything about any of this stuff, so please bear with me. I copied the information above from the hosting site we use for our current website, which my husband set up. He however has no idea what this error message means either.
Don't worry, Samantha. No-one is here to judge. All of us have questions from time to time. We are all here to help each other as much as we can.
I'm assuming that you're using WebSite X5's own built-in FTP client to export files to the server (Upload the Website to Internet in Step 5) - however, if you are using another method, such as Export the Website to disk and then uploading via a separate FTP client, then please resort to WebSite X5's own built-in FTP client first. Once you have the software working correctly using WebSite X5's own FTP engine, then you can upload using other methods if desired. This step is very important... please use the built-in FTP engine whilst troubleshooting.
Other than that, I think that your issue might be related to the destination folder, which is currently set as 'mfg'
WebSite X5 needs to have full read/write access to the folder which you nominate on the server. It needs to be able to not only write files to the root project folder, but also create sub-folders and files within those sub-folders.
Your webhost will be able to assist you and tell you if there are any restrictions on reading and writing to your nominated folder, 'mfg'. If there are then they will help you resolve these issues so that you can upload successfully.
You will need to ensure that the 'mfg' folder is empty before uploading your WebSite X5 project into it. Otherwise you could run into various problems. The existing website which is currently in that folder should either be deleted or moved to another directory on the server. Alternatively, create and use a completely separate new folder/directory on the server for your WebSite X5 project.
Please keep us updated.
On a correctly configured server, with WebSite Address (URL) and Destination folder set properly, clicking on the small icon highlighted in the screenshot below should allow you to view and traverse the files and folders on the server. If for any reason you are unable to do this, then there are errors in the values entered in one or both of those fields, or access is denied at server level (which your webhost can help you resolve).

Ok thanks, we emptied the mfg folder, and tried to export again, and received the same error message. It says "Could not find part of the path C:\WINDOWS\system32\res\admin\libraries\test.class.php." Is this a file problem on my computer? Or on the server? I tried checking my computer and there is no such folder.

The error message pops up just after "Checking PHP compatibility". Our webhost server says we have PHP version 5.6 enabled for this website. I have no idea if that even is relevant lol

I have attached a photo of the screen
Thanks for the extra information, Samantha.
At this point I believe that the WebSite Address (URL) and Destination folder are without any shadow of doubt set correctly, and I also feel that you are passing the test for PHP compatibility (version 5.6 is fine).
I am going to ask Incomedia to intervene on your behalf. Your patience would be appreciated as it can take 24-48 hours for a reply from the official support team.
The test.class.php file should eventually end up on your server at the following location:
mfg/admin/libraries/test.class.php
However, given that you are attempting to upload via the built-in FTP engine, I am at this stage unsure as to why you are receiving an error message referencing a local path on your computer.
I will update the thread if necessary, but in the meantime please await further help from Incomedia.
Many thanks!

Somehow, my husband managed to upload the website by copying the files through filezilla. After that, when we tried to upload through the Website X5 software, it worked flawlessly. I've already been able to upload updates successfully. Not sure still what was really the problem, must have had something to do with that file location, or at least that would be my guess.
Anyway, problem solved, thanks for all the help!
That's great news, thanks very much for letting us know!
Here maybe the solution
