Adding multiple file formats to Video & Audio Object  en

When working with the Video/ Audio Object, is it possible to add multiple video file formats (mp4, ogg, webm etc) to ensure that the video will compatible with all browsers and operating systems? (PC, Mac, Android and devices)

Second Question: If on the other hand, I use an HTML Object and hand code the video presentation, how do I ensure that the video files (xx.mp4, xx.ogg, xx.webm, etc) will be included in the upload, or does this have to be a manual task. (FTP upload)

Many thanks in advance and again, thanks for all the answers I've found within these archives while working on this latest website project.

Leon, I am not aware of any incompatibility across platforms for mp4 (although I have to admit I usually use youtube to interface with videos)

Yes, if you manually include links to files you will need to put them in an appropriate place "on the web" using ftp or manually via the file upload option when uploading your site to the web in step 5.

Yes, if you manually include links to files you will need to put them in an appropriate place "on the web" using ftp or manually via the file upload option when uploading your site to the web in step 5.

You can also use the option which is built-in to the HTML Code Object to add linked files.

Go to the Expert tab of the HTML Code Object and click on the 'Add' button in the Files linked to HTML code section.  Any files which you add here will be uploaded to the folder set in the Path on server field.  This is files by default but you can change it if you wish.

Kind regards,

Paul

(It > En) ... even if it is possible to attach files to the project, and therefore also videos, ... but for videos it is not recommended, as the Project would be too heavy for online exports, as problems could arise ...
... it would be better to use a third-party FTP client for the videos (Filezilla, WS_FTP, etc.), so the project would remain very agile ...
... however, video on Youtube (*) should always be preferred, for immediate streaming, quality, freedom of bandwidth, lightweight server, maximum compatibility. etc.
