Sorry i ment to say make the 'comments anonymous' not 'comments optional'.
Hello. As far as I know, no. But you can use Disqus comments. Or Facebook comments.

thank you for getting in touch.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to modify the entries for the comment form, I am sorry about this. Still, what you can do is edit the filed in the Content Language window, so you will be asking for another information instead of the e-mail address. Also, you can follow Aleksej's suggestion and use either Facebook or Disqus to manage the comments.
