Hi,
- I have just booted up as normal.
- Let everything start running, checked emails etc.
- started X5 Pro only to find it took me through the install for the whole software package.
- Is this normal?
Also
- What is the current version, it's telling me 3.11 and won't allow for updates.
- Is there somewhere to check what is the current version?
- Is it possible for the latest version number to be displayed on the support page?
Regards Kevin

Hello Kevin,
That's not normal behaviour (to reinstall the software from scratch). I can't think that there have been any other reports of this happening, to date. It sounds daft, but are you absolutely certain you clicked on the program shortcut as opposed to the setup shortcut?
The current version is 2019.3.11 - the software itself will warn you if there are updates available, each time you open it. You can also verify the latest version (available to you) by going to the Download section of your profile here on the Help Center:
Download WebSite X5
The updates are all listed here:
WebSite X5 updates
The current version is also listed on the bottom right hand corner of the footer on the Web X5 Pro website.
Kind regards,
Paul

Hi Paul
Well I've checked up on that, the access is via a button on the taskbar and has been since installation.
There is one additional X5 button on the desktop.
This did not happen on the shadow machine (laptop), that just told me with a message that I was up to date.
Very strange behaviour. I thought I'd messed something up.
I've scanned overnight for virus and other mallware, All clear.
The software is running correctly. But I have in my mind that I was running on 3.9 yesterday??? That's on both desktop and laptop. (which have to match with versions).
I just mention it as I had to enter the actual serial number into the installation.
Regards Kevin
Did it actually go through the full setup routine, or did it perhaps update some files and folders, then request activation via the licence key?
If the latter only, then please see Elisa's reply in this thread:

It sounds like the software may have installed an update followed by a request for activation (as opposed to a full install). The in-place update procedure can look very similar, with the progress bar, etc.

Hi Paul,
It was a quick process, not like the initial install. say about 7 seconds. At the end of which it required the license key to activate it.
Will read the above link in a minute or two.
Thanks again.
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
please follow the procedure I had mentioned on the reported post, should you need any further help please let me know, I will be happy to.
I wish you a nice day.
