What is the bar at the bottom of the Classic slideshow?

I'm still finding my way round X5..... Using the Classic slideshow, on the uploaded website when I place the mouse curser above or below an image, I find a dark grey full page-width bar appearing at the bottom of the image with, in white, the words that I've written for the image description . All the boxes in Style are unticked, so I wonder if anyone can tell me what this bar is called and how I might be able to control it?
I've attached a screen shot to show what I'm referring to...
many thanks
Barry

Hi Barry, please attach a screen shot of the style page. Thanks.
Barry, this just means you added a description to the image in the gallery. This description is visible at all times unless you hover over the image.
Unfortunately there is no control over this feature - I believe there was in early versions.

It would be nice to be able to limit the width of the band and maybe be able to modify the colour of it as well?
Barry, I could not agree more. Sometimes Incomedia can be very frustrating.
In this post, there is 3rd party code provided by Giuseppe that will let you manually set text and background colour.
