Good afternoon Everybody,
I have created 3 websites for myself over the years and host them on godaddy. Now my godaddy account has a php 5.6 and I am waiting for the upgrade to 7 but they have told me I cannot do it they have to and it will take up to 4 weeks.
My problem is that I cannot receive any emails to me from my websites. This is a disaster as I can not do any business. Times are difficult enough with corona virus but I am now not able to take any booking as the emails just wont come through.
Is the any way bring the php from 7 to 5.6 so my websites will still work? I only need this for a few weeks.
Regrads,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
If you have retained IWZIP backup files for previous editions of your websites (created in version 2019) then you would be able to reinstall version 2019, import your project files, and carry on using PHP 5.6 until GoDaddy have sorted the issue out for you.
The only other option would be to make alternative hosting arrangements. It would appear that you've received very poor support from GoDaddy. PHP version 7 is certainly not new, and I can't understand why it could take them so long to rectify an issue which has security and performance implications for your websites.
Best of luck!

PS: I assume that you're on a legacy GoDaddy product, and as such are not able to change PHP version yourself using their control panel:

no, im not as the godaddy hosting product is very dated. They started selling a newer product but kept me on the old one. Ive now relised because I cant receive any emails. They say it takes over a month to move it over!

With regards to taking it back to a earlier version. I have somebody updating my site for seo and creating links etc. So I dont think it would be wise to take it back to an earlier older version.
Thanks for the help!
