Version 2022.2.6 problems - file manager  en

I have a question for INCOMEDIA

I have been here since version 8. Many new versions have disappeared since then. Most of the new versions with new functions. I have been in (not anymare) the IT business for more than 35 years as a system designer for mainframe systems. I have experience with customers that does not want to be the first on a new version. I am now one of them. So even if I could upgrade to version 2022.2.6 I have not done that yet.

I can see on the forum that a lot of time have been spent on a new "functionality" - the internal file manager. It seem not to function.

I have many things that I would like to see in a new version. Many users have made "wishes" for new functions.

I have NEWER seen a post on this forum asking for an internal file manager.

Now to my question: Could INCOMEDIA tell what should be the meaning of such a function?

Is it because X5 should be prepared for a database version of the e-commerce?

Why is it made?

There MUST be a reason why it is made - I am curious to know why.

@Axel - money cannot be the reason. X5 must have spent time on developing. Users have spent a lot of time on making posts on the forum and to have their projects to functionn DESPITE this new "function". For me it is still a mystery. Who should benefit of it???????

Another mysterious thing. My post was posted before the X5 announcement on "slowing down".

How on earth can this happen??????? The X5-post was posted AFTER my post.

Is it me that has a sunstroke or is X5 fiddling with the forum????????

John, if it is not money so what.surprised

Look & feel is important to sale product... And to be honest WSX5 is a great tool regarding his look & feel and usage. 

To fix actual issues and bugs cannot attract new customers ! 

So to do that you need to add some graphical aspects. Few month ago they have relooked the interface from scratch. And nobody on this forum had asked for that.

The main issue is they have no enough ressource to add new graphical fetaures and to fix bugs in same time .... 
Normally they should fix bugs at first and add new graphical feature or in same time... but here many bugs are not fixed and users are waiting, wainting, waiting.

We paid for an update protection to have at first fixes, and not for debugging the product at each new release.

Me I stopped to wait like probably other users.

I am personally very disappointed with the software that constantly creates problems on one and the same things... And in fact I realized that the chief developer (if there is one) does not read the forum and user requests at all, because if he did he would first solve the problems with the web store, the legal provisions that The EU is rigorously looking for, not to mention security problems in the php code, a better CMS system for our users, a file manager that no one asked for... Maybe this post will be blocked again, but I'm fed up of constantly singing about the same problems and honestly paying for the application which I expect to work... So I'm not calling for rebellion, but I see that it created itself thanks to the actions of the owner or designer of the application that was superb...

thank you for getting in touch. 

When deciding what the new features of a new version will be, we try to identify a common thread which includes both possible modifications requested by the users but also changes which depend on internal decisions we take by considering many different aspects.

As far as version 2022.2 goes, we focused on less "visible" and more technical aspects affecting the way the project files are managed and which therefore can bring benefits not only to a specific part of users that use a particular feature, but more generally to anyone who uses WebSite X5, regardless of the kind of website they build, because these modifications improve and optimize the project management itself.

I'm sorry for my comment, but I have to say it because I feel that I have some right on this forum because I still paid for "UPDATE PROTECTION", which is more and more absurd to me every day...

What are you doing updates that no one asks you to do, you don't read requests on this forum, the pulse of users is not your property? I always see and notice the same people on this forum and they are all as outraged as I am. Can't you hear the feedback??? STOP CAUSING PROBLEMS AND GET THE APP WORKING!!!

Thank you for answering.

So - the change in the file management is an internal decisions you have taken after considering many different aspects. I see.

I have not seen it yet as I am still on 2021.3.4.  I have not upgraded yet, as I want to have projects that functions, and a tool that functions.

When you have the file managing to function and the e-mailing to function, I will make an upgrade. Hope your developers can figure out what to do to have it to function. Hope there will be internals considerations to focus on a stable version. And after that consider new functionality that we users want.

I think the X5 is a good tool - but there is too many bugs in new releases, and too many "fancy" things that has newer been asked for and too few things that the users ask for. INCOMEDIA decides what will be made - just hoping there will be more focus on PRO features in the product they call PRO.

Why write and spend time on this forum when comments are blocked and the truth is hidden that the owners of INCOMEDIA srl don't like...

I have to jump in here after reading all these comments.

I too am frustrated with Incomedia - and I have written posts here with many suggestions and criticisms. There are some serious failings with X5 Pro - I no longer consider it PRO... to me it is X5 Almost Pro.

But I must defend Incomedia - to their credit they have not removed any of my negative comments. (I post them as a motivation to fix and improve X5 - the frustration is almost never getting any feedback from incomedia and the painful slowness of improvements to items that need it).

I used other software before where I was threatened by the forum moderators with account suspension if I said anything negative or brought up anything negative about how their product worked.  I dont use thier product anymore and it is now a dead product - no surprise (bluevoda).  All they do now is host sites (vodahost) - and they are bad at the too.

So Incomedia get a lot of credit for having a thick skin and keeping my posts, which I try to keep light and maybe a bit comical.  My comments are not personal attacks on anyone, but a comment on the whole what needs improvement.  I use X5 Pro (Sorry, Almost Pro) every day, sometimes hours or the whole day, updating and improving my company site.  It is a very good product.

But PLEASE, better feedback, and deal with these serious shortcomings: 1) product import/export with options and variations. 2) Alt tags for cart images

My top 2. There are many more, but these are my pain.

And now all of Italy will close for holidays I think from Aug 5 to Aug 25 if I am not mistaken.....

The x5 application is no longer competitive on the market, unfortunately, but it is true from my point of view... Update protection is an unnecessary waste of money because bugs are dragged from version to version... I know that my comments are very critical, but I pay for the application license for which I expect to work... I believed in this application but 15 versions below this one proved that the company is going in a totally wrong direction... Thank you and sorry for the honesty...
