File Selection Stopped Working

New file selection feature can no longer find the file directory structure on my desktop. It works, slowly, on my laptop. Both are Dell machines running Windows 10. The problem only appeared today.
I reinstalled Websit X5 Evo on the desktop and file selection still no longer works. The window opens and then the "spinner" runs indefinitely.

I just discovered that I only I have this problem when connected to the internet, either by ethernet cable to the modem or through WiFi.
Peter, it sounds like something is trying to "protect" you. Can your try disabling any firewall (even windows) then reboot. Can files now be accessed?
If so, restore firewall, restart and if you get a warning when running WX5 allow an exception.
If firewall off doesn't resolve the issue, try the same with av/malware protection?

I have Website X5 as a permitted exception on Windows Firewall and I have no other real-time security software. Unlikely a firewall problem.

Please try all of these steps carefully
1_ Shut down the software and uninstall it
2_ Also delete all the content from the folder:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Incomedia\Your version
(Be careful to delete the folder under AppData and not Document! That folder contains your projects and you must not delete that one)
3_ Disable antivirus and firewall temporarily
4_ Reinstall the software and try again
