Hi,

When you open the programme evolution 10 and click todo the update 10.0.8.34, you got an error 406.

It seems that the programme components are still in the memory....and users will do mostly the update from there version when they start there evolution and click on the button for update!!!

The way i did install it.

  1. Open your evolution 10.
  2. Click on the button to update the version.
  3. The programme will start to update it, follow the screen..at the end you got the message that update is failed => Error 406   ==> Don't worry.. don't do nothing goto step 4
  4. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL button, this will open the task manager.
  5. Kill the programme evolution10 task, B
  6. UT DON'T KILL THE UPDATE FORM FROM INCOMEDIA.
  7. When the process is killed, return to the failed update form, and click on the button, go step back.
  8. Now click back on the button next (to start the update).
  9. Update will install correct, without error!

It's an annoying  error "administrators"! Can this please be fixed, so it can be installed in an normal way!

Operating system: Windows 7 Prof.

Thanx & best regards,

Frederik

Hi, Frederik,

I had the same problem and I did  like you said to solve it, but in the end, after installing (Maybe half) the same thing happened. Error 406. I  downloaded it also directly from the profile, but there was a "code 5" error, so I couldn't do it.

Do you have any idea?

Best regards

Markus

Hi Markus,

I kindly ask you to attach a screen shot of the error message "code 5". This would help to better understand the issue.

Thank you,

Noemi

Hi,

did you kill the process in the task manager? To go to the task manager you need to press the buttons CTRL+ALT+DEL and then kill the running processes from incomedia. When the processes aren't shutdown, the error will come back Wink

Hopes this help you!

Hi,

I also could not update to the latest update.  Actually I am not able to do the update from within website x5 when it is open. I terminated the website x5 process from the task manager but still I kept getting the "error 406". However I have no problem perfoming online updates for any of the rest of the software I use on my computer.

I had no problems with my previous OS WinXP.

The problem with the website X5 online update started several months n months ago when I upgraded to win 8 and started running Kaspersky Pure 3.

To make a long story short I still have the problem but I found another way to do the online update. I just followed a recomendation from one of the moderators of another post on the same subject (sorry I do not remember which post was it), and it worked fine for me.

Here is what I did:

Looked for imUpdate.exe located withn website x5 folder. I clicked it and run it as an administrator. The online update was completed in a few seconds without any errors.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Giorgos!!

I had problems updating from v .36 to v.39, but using imUpdate worked great!

I think it should be mentioned at the page where it is announced that an update is available. That would have spered me a lot of time.
