I have been trying to get my blog page show in the menu bar. It shows up as a special page in Site Creation and I can also preview the page. My site that had a blog before using V8 did this perfectly but now I'm using V10 all the input pages are completely different. I am also having difficulty accessing the admin function of the blog as it continually rejects my log in details. All help would be greatfully revceived

Hello Chris,

To have the blog show in the Main Menu you need to go to Step 2 - Sitemap Creation.  Hold the left mouse button down and drag and drop the blog from the 'Special Pages' section of the Map to any position of your choice.  This will create an 'alias' to the blog, which will show as a link to the blog in the Main Menu.

As regards rejection of your admin details etc...  I take it that you have double-checked your admin username and password are as you expect them to be in Step 4 - Advanced Settings - Access Management?  And that you have refreshed your site on the server if you've made any changes to the same?

Another thing to watch out for is copy/paste...  try entering credentials manually if copy and paste does not work.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks Paul. That all seemed to work OK. Just a big difference from V8 to V10. On the subject of passwords, can I change them to ones of my choosing rather than the self generated ones?

No worries...

Go to Step 4 - Advanced Settings - Access Management

Click once on the admin or user's name for which you wish to change the password (in the Groups/Users column)...  the user will be highlighted in blue at this point.

Now click on the 'Edit' button on the right-hand side of the screen...  in the pop-up which opens you can directly edit all details including First/Last Name, Username, and Password...  you do this simply by positioning your cursor within each text box and deleting/typing new details as required.

Click 'OK' back through all screens to save your changes, then refresh your website by reuploading to the server.

Let us know if you get stuck!

Cheers,

Paul
