I am building a website for my employees, and want each of them to have their own password-protected page which will contain their data and work history.
I want them to login to their pages *only* from the *home page*. This is because I don't want the names of other staff members displayed anywhere in the website. Please guide me step-by-step. Thank you.

Anton,
This is not something X5 is designed for. Maybe you can create something, but first of all, how many employees are you talking about?
Autor
Not many for the time being, about a dozen or so, but the number should be growing in time.
What is this something that you suggest I create?
If it's not many you could create a project for everybody. and upload it to differents maps.
This means 12 maps and twelf projects with protective pages. (you can open x5 twice, copy the pages and change login)
But for future thinking it might be better to make a forum. There are enough that are free and you can set text and pictures with seperate rights.

This is even more complicated than it sounds.
I suggest that X5 implement an ability to create a password-oriented site. I hope its developers consider this, and hype it up enough to create more end-user interest in the app.
Well, that's not up to me, but what you ask is not simple. And will take effort, offcource you can make just twelf pages but not with one common login.
If the reason for not displaying names on your home page is that you don't want google to index the names you can use pictures instead.
This way you have 12 pictures (with the employees names) and then send them with a link to a hidden page with there own login and password.
You can make a picture easely with paint from windows.
If you want Incomedia to make something then I suggest creating an idea post.
And maybe there are even better ideas from users here in answers ?
Goodluck Anton.

Anton, I did the same thing in my website. all you have to do is to:
1. create all the pages you need and luck them
2. disable automatic registration and create all the users you want (each user has to have it own group!) so create group1 then user1, group2 then user2,...
3. assign them only to their own page.
it works perfectly fine, I test it and I use it for my clients.

Anthony.
And how do they login, with one login and password screen in the home page ?
yes Andre, either in the home page or any other page that has login, or you simply create a page called, client login. but you have to have seperate group for each user
for example
group "andre" user "andre", group "antom" user "antom", group "anthony" user "anthony"
then you assign andre to page andre, antom to page antom, etc

Hi Anthony,
Question 1, how do you disable automatic registration?
Question 2, where do I create those groups? And how is this assigning done?
Can you guide me step-by-step on the Website X5 interface?
Thanks!

By the way, I am using the latest version of Website X5 Evolution, i.e. ver 10.1.4.45.
Hi Anton,
Have you tried [Advanced Settings] - [[Access Management]] and creating Groups and Users? You can assign individual passwords for each users and set a default page for them once they login.
Just remember to set the individual pages to Locked at the [Sitemap Creating] Toolbar.
If this is not what you're asking for, sorry to waste your time lol.
Anton, The automatic registration is only in v10 pro so you don't need to do this.
You can create groups for users in page 4 advanved settings and create the user groups in acces management like Anthony / Carol described...
You can create the login with an object html and widgets on any page.

Oh no Carroll T., you're not wasting my time! Your comment is appreciated. But I already did this actually.
First I made separate pages for each of the individuals and locked each one of them in [2-Sitemap Creation], then went to [4-Advanced Settings -> Access Management] and created a Group and Users under the Group, assigning each User to a locked page.
However their names appear in a drop-down box over the horizontal menu on top which they click to enter their site via a username/password dialog box. I don't want that. I would like them to be able to access their pages by just one username/password dialog box in the home page. I see this being implemented in many other websites on the net.
Anton, bare with me, I will create a video tutorial for you.
and will post the link here for you.
