How to batch add filename and/or EXIF info to gallery objects
Автор: Martin S.As an experienced web user but new, however, to Website X5 Professional, I am struggling to create an X5 version of my current website which functions largely as a means to display hundreds of galleries of (many thousands of) sports photos which can be ordered by email. The galleries I use to date produce output similar visually to that generated by X5. I am also now able to create roughly the X5 site I need to showcase these photo galleries.
But what I have not yet been able to find is how to let X5 automatically add - for instance - all the photos' filenames as their description under a photo, so that the viewer can note that down or, better, click on it to add it to a shopping cart. The software I currently use is able to add a filename or photo caption or any other snippet of EXIF info from the image file and use it as a description or whatever I wish. I assume that X5 is at least able to display a filename under a photo but have been unable to find out how. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.
Hi, in my opinion you have two way to do his operation:
(anyway, for both chance you must create your shopping cart)

Thank you for your trouble, Gabriele, but that does not appear to be a practical solution to my requirements. That might work with a couple of items, but I need X5 to look up each image in a photo gallery, and add visible text (and, if I had a cart too, a clickable link) in, or under, each photo. There might be 1000 images in each gallery. That text must consist of at least the filename and preferably also the caption which is readable in the image's exif information. In my case a filename might be, for instance, 2014_01_11--08_15_30-m4192166.jpg, being an automatically-generated archive filename for a conversion from RAW to JPG of a photo taken on 11 January 2014 at 08:15:30. So under, or in, a photo in an X5 gallery I would like to see something like 2014_01_11--08_15_30-m4192166 Jaap Eden Bokaal 2014, Skater XYZ. This gives date, time, place and person on the photo.
I have a feeling that this is asking too much of this software. When looking at all the other photographers' websites that I found as examples of X5 users, I found many photo galleries but none with anything other than simple photos and the occasional description. I had been hoping that X5 would combine the extensive possibilities of Lightroom web export and plug-ins, in a more readily maintainable shell, but I fear that X5 can only fulfil a small part of my requirements as as photographer. Hopefully someone will prove me wrong.
Hello Martin,
At the moment it is not possible to have this feature in WebSite X5. I would like to suggest that you open an "Idea" Post where you describe to us the feature you would like to see implemented in the future releases of WebSite X5.
Many thanks!
