i see that..but i wanna upload ebooks onto a page on my website im creating and i do not see how to do it..all i see is choosing between google viewer and iframe and putting in a website link...thanks

go to advance setting, click on statics, seo,... click on expert tab, from the bottom part (file link to html) click add button the choose your pdf from your hard drive add it, then leave it go to files folder (that is the default setting).

make sure name of your file does not have space, if it does, use - (for example: my-program.pdf)

now go to page add the pdf, on the address bar type http://www.yourdomain.com/files/my-program.pdf

thanks for the prompt response..but i have a final question..yourdomain means the name i'd chosen for my website right? or i just put in yourdomain and add the names of the folders in which the ebooks are located?..and also what of the type? googleview and iframe..which should i go for?

ah this should be my last question Anthony..thanks for being so patient with me...i'd like to add that the ebooks i am uploading is meant to be freely downloaded on my website, so will that be possible after i had uploaded them? and finally i also do intend to upload a pdf file onto my website that should be for sale so i will be eternally grateful if you could run me through that as well after answering my last questions..thanks..

as far as domain, yes, it has to be your actual domain, I was just using yourdomain.com as an example.

I think google view would be better.

just create a link (could be text, button,etc) then choose the link option and choose link to file.

for selling, you need to use ecommerce part of x5, that means you need to create a product catalog, then start setting up the shop (tax, currency,etc)

x5 has a manual an you can download it from your profile, they have the good basic for ecommerce part of x5 over there, it will realy helps you if you read that part once.

My domain name is not yet registered cos its all a new thing im doing so could that be why after putting in the link it keeps showing that ''im sorry but no preview available?''

yes, you need to have a domain name and host. then upload your pdf file inside your host in order to preview your pdf file.

Joss, you can not protect the link, websitex5 shopping cart can not keep your link safe. the savvy guys can always download it. but for the normal people, you can add your book inside a hidden page and redirect your shop after payment to that hidden page.
