No way to open or import an iwprj-file

I created my website using website x5 11 free. It produced files with extension with iwprj extension. Naturally, I couldn't import or open them again with the free version, so I bought the evolution version. However, this one cannot open iwprj, either. Exporting from out of the free version doesn't work either, because before exporting I would have to be able to access it.
Do I have to rebuild the website? If I have to, surely not with any Incomedia product!

I have read your question through carefully several times, but I am not really understanding it, my apologies... in particular, this sentence:

Access what? Can you expand on why you are unable to export in Step 5 of the Free Version? Exporting in that way will produce a file which can be imported readily into your new Evolution 11.
