The setting you are looking for is the colour of the 'breadcrumbs' in Step 1 General Settings > Template Style > Text Style...

Select 'Page Path' from the Page Item drop-down menu, and change the 'Text Color' to suit your preference.

Thanks for the tip. But how does one change the date format i.e. 9/23/2015 for Sept 9, 2015?

Use the Language Content Management screen to edit the variable 'date_format' to your liking.  This screen is located at Step 1 General Settings (please see the screenshot attached)  -  you will need to click on the icon circled in the screenshot to access the screen.
