Displaying an external RSS feed in Website X5 Evolution 11
Автор: Alan BennettI have correctly setup an RSS Feed in the advanced section and linked it to a new page on my website. After uploading i can see the two files created in my website directory. The result i expected was to see a list of the RSS items in my webpage that users coud see and browse/read.When I browse to the new page i linked while setting up the RSS feed it is nothing but a blank page.I am considering upgrading to X5 Pro 12, but my users want to be able to read live RSS feeds on my website. I like X5 very much, but unles I can resolve this issue I will have to investigate another program.
Here is my feed ph data;
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi Alan.
May I ask you if you already uploaded the website online? If so, please share the url with us so that we can check directly what might be the problem.

Hi Alan.
The link you sent me is working just fine. If you wish to insert a link to the feed in your website , remeber that it depends on the browser used to navigate your website, if your users are gonna be able to see the feed. That would be if the browser integrates a feed reader or not.
That's why we integrate the FeedReady App with the Professional version. So that users can recieve without issue all the feed and are able to read it without issues on mobile too.

I have used other website software, such as Concrete 6 that easlily displays RSS feeds in the website page, regardless of which browser is used. I should not need a feed reader to just read RSS feed that is rendered within the page. I dont need people to download the information, just read it on the page, if you get what I mean? I have the funds to buy Professional 12, is the RSS capabilities any different in this new version?

Did you actually click on the rss feed in the page that was displayed? It goes to a blank website page I setup to display the feed.

Is this what you interpret my needs to be?
Create a direct link between you and those who are interested in what you talk about. Set up an RSS feed to broadcast your news: subscribers will be updated in real time.
I dont want to broadcast MY news, I want to display an EXTERNAL feed

Hi Alan.
I clearly didn't understand correctly what you were trying to do.
At Step 4, you're allowed to create your own RSS Feed to broadcast information from your website.
You can link a page of your website to an external feed to show, but you would need your browser to implement the feed reader anyway.
For example firefox does and I can see it. With chrome, I get the same result as you.
I'd also like to remind that the Staff won't offer support for external code, as it seems it has been used to achieve a different result from the canonical one achievable through the software.

I think i have come to the conclusion Website X5 cannot do what I want it to.
I want to display the Extenal RSS feed from another site into a web page on MY site. That would be browser independant, so any browser would display it like any other page on my site.
Hi Alan.
It is indeed possible by simply integrating through the HTML Object one of the many Feed Reading scripts you can find online, but for which the Staff won't offer support.
It should be enough to find and copy them from the web, or you might wanna wait for expert users to come by and help you out with this matter.
