I am a new user of this software ,Version 11, but I have created a web page on my PC for our club to an intermediate level, just the basics so far and have been offered the temporary use of a friends web server to upload to and test. I am using my ASUS laptop with direct connection to my router/modem and the settings I have been given for the web site are as attached. Except for the destnation folder which has been set up for me, all the other settings on the server are generic and tested ok by other users as per attached. I have done all the suggested ideas of stopping the Windows fire wall and my TRend anti virus software but it FTP process still fails as per attached. I was hoping the WEB X5 site might have a facility to test a new web site even for a day or so but that doesn't seem possible.

I don;t want to pay for a server yet until a site build with your software seems to work.

Do you have any ideas

Stewart Gordon

The 'Destination folder' field in Step 5 doesn't accept a URL or fully qualified domain name.

If the folder that you wish to upload to on your server is named 'bmm' then instead of entering:

http//www.abintra.com/au/bmm

try entering:

bmm

(On a sidenote please be aware that a colon is required before each double forward slash in a URL  -  e.g. http://www.abintra.com/au/bmm  -  but this is not the cause of your problem in this instance  -  enter only the folder name(s) in the 'Destination folder' field)

Kind regards,

Paul

Small correction... The URL requires a colon not a semi-colon

That didn't work so I am going to run my Laptop at the home of the person providing this temporary web server to check why other users are able to upload ok. No none else is using Web site X5 to produce their web page. I do suspect it is a problem with the  destination folder and some restriction to it's use

Thanks for your ideas so far

Stewart

Try also with nothing at all entered in the 'Destination folder' field, and try also the following:

au/bmm
