Just to be sure I made a small test page and uploaded it to test folder.

I filled on the left side as subject "left  message" on the right side well duh ...right message. and used several email addresses to see what goes where.

It is as mentioned in the text above, the right goes to sender as confirmation (user email adress from e-mail form), the left one is send to you (user email adres from the left side)

If you have multiple mail forms, you can add message so you know what it is.

Thanks Andre, however where I am confused is that the form carries a text area for the user/subscriber to type his message and that is what I should receive. How can I possibly fill out the message for him? That's why the left message has me scratching my head.

Of course, if I get the message he submitted and say a second mail to let me know someone submitted the form that might explain why I can add something to it although, I should point out that classicly, such a confirmation is sent automatically detailing the name and email address as well as the IP address and time of form submission. See the attached screenshot of a typical email confirmation sent from my existing site. I don't think X5 has such functionality though.

A time stamp or IP, no not to my knowladge.

In some cases it could be useful to fill in that left field, to be honest in normal use you leave it empty, at least I do, so you can go bot ways in this case.

If you want IP or time stamp then a IDEA post for Incomedia is the best way to go.
