Totally ruined my website, help wanted
Автор: Joost C.I receive a message that my website exceeded the storage limit (limit is 250mb, but there was 308mb data on the site. So I wanted to check through the CP panel where there was too much data (probably photos) and it said it was under "mail" but when I clicked it there wasn't anything to see. So I went into advanced options, showed the hidden files, and there I saw the trash folder where (I think) the problem occured.
So I deleted everything UNDER the trashfolders.
I reloaded my website, and now it's completely blank! Everything disappeared.
And I can't upload it again through the tool, because I'm getting errors (I suppose because I'm still over limit)
Can my website be restored to before august 10 2017 ? Then I will delete the files that are too bg in Website X5 itself, and I'll try to redo an upload ?
Or any other way how we can resolve this problem asap ?

Hello Joost
What do you see when you establish a FTP connection ?
Is there any files ?
You could use a FTP program as FileZilla ( only download FileZilla from a trusted site if you not have it already).

Hello again
It seems you are hosted at Alfanet. Have you contacted them ?
Maybe it is possible that you can keep your mails, and then have your site "reset". You must then be sure that you only have data that you can recreate by uploading from X5.
You could in X5 in "project selection" duplicate your project.
Then you could in the duplicate delete the pages that has problems with big images.
And then you could try to upload your site.
It seems to be a very small amount of space you have ( 250 MB ) for your site.
If you have images, then you should resize the images before using them in the project. You could use a free software as IrfanView. It has the ability to resize images and even optimize images for the web. If an image is only meant to be shown on a page, then you should be able to create a good image that only is about 30 -40 Kb.
You should also check your mail-accounts. maybe there are some mails with big attachments.
Kind regards

Yes, most files are still on there, but the website isn't displaying anymore. So I think I might have deleted some crucial system files which now cause the site not working anymore. I should change my project locally first, make sure the website doesn't exceed my limit of 250MB, and then upload it again to the host, overwriting all current files.
The only problem with that is that it's not possible to upload the project and it's files, it's giving an error, and I think it's caused by the size limit of the account with Alfanet. I'll contact them asap to see which solution they can propose.
Many thanks for your kind help!

I can reduce the website size under the limit. That shouldn't be a problem. Then I should ask the host to just delete everything, so I can upload the new (smaller) version. Does that sound about right ?
Many thanks
Hello Joost
That sounds reasonable.
But be sure that you dont have some materisl that is not uploaded via the X5 project.
I could see that you had some calendar data ( this is the only page that shows ) but I cannot see if it is pure text or it comes from a calendar.
If you have other systems ( a calendar or so ) you should be aware that these data will be lost.
If you only have data that are from your X5 project, there should be no problem in "resetting" your account.
I will advice you to make a backup of your X5 project and that you make a duplicate of your project and then work with this duplicate. ( just to be sure ).
Then ask the provider to reset your account.
Then all you have to do, is to minimize your project and then make an upload and all should be fine.
Hope you will have it up and running.
Kind regards
John S.
