Are credits bitcoins?

I just purchased Website X5 Start 14. What are these credits? Are they the same as bitcoins? I never purchased anything this way. Given the limited amount of subjects in the existing templates, I thought there might be options to obtain these templates without purchasing them. I looked through my email messages and saw nothing to download in addition to the program itself.

Credits are points you can buy from Incomedia.
With these you can buy additional content for x5. Standard x5 has enough content items to make a good website.
There are extra items that are free, but also where you need to pay for, this can be done with credits.
Check out the marketplace (top right here in answers) for items.
Big advantage is that it is automatiicle added in x5 and can directly be used.
Also in the template section, or in the page section (step4) use top right manage button to find these items.
Find a free one you like and test with it to see what it does and how it works.

Be aware that credits have a lifetime of 1 year. If not used within this period - it is bad luck - for you.
I think this is the only real disadvantage of the credit-system.
Using the credit-system is very simple and easy. INCOMEDIA should remove, or at least make the validity-period longer.

Credits are the "points" , like Andre said, which you an use to purchase Optional Objects and Templates. If a Template contains some Optional Objects you are free to choose if you want to purchase them too or not. The unused Credits expire 365 days after their activation.

Forgive me for not getting back sooner. I missed the Christmas promotion; but since wolves were at my door these past two months it is all just as well. Just now going under Templates and Option objects I saw some things designated Free and others Purchased. So, I have to become familiar with what the program provides. Therefore, I am going to have to start my site soon. Thank you, Elisa, John and Andre. I also learned to revisit posts I make so that I am in touch with the people who provide the answers.
