When we use the Contact Form Object using version 16.1.1 and try and send a mail this does not work, no mail received.

there is no error shown, you just dont get an enquiry mail if you use the Contact Form Object

Try different settings for mail. goto step1 -> advanced, data management.
or test in the admin panel
set /admin behind your webadress, use the login from x5, step1 -> advanced, acces management
goto test section and test the mailing software in combination with the mailing software from your provider
