My 2020.1.7 was EXTREMELY slow, updated 2020.1.8 seemed to solve the problem, here is what happened next: after check that stability and speed was improved now it's impossible to open my project.

Yes I do have a backup, but what about the changes? Do I need to re-do everything and backup everything expecting not to receive the same message again?

Agustin, do you have an iwzip backup or are referring to the (unreliable) built in backup routine.

If you haven't looked at the built in backup but have uploaded your site recently you may have a more up-to-date backup. Open WX5, select your project and click backup. If there is a suitable candidate select redo.

Every time I finish working on a project for the day I go to step5 export project and add the date to the filename. If WX5 crashes I will always have a recent iwzip to work with (and this also offers me a level of protection in the case of a failed upgrade).

Yes, I had the same issue with an early version, it was so unreliable that everything has to be backed up, it was fixed after 3 or 4 builts later.

I understand a backup after 5 days, not 3 times a day and recovering twice a day.

Let me know when the application gets fixed. Meanwhile I'll get back to 2019.1.8 wich is reasonable stable.

"crashes" and "failed upgrade" has become a standard lately.

Thanks

Agustin, as stated in this thread by Stefano (https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/ru/post/226644), some people are experiencing performance issues even in v2020.1.8 For me and almost certainly most users this has not been an issue. This is unfortunate and did not even become evident in beta testing.

Rather than create an iwzip multiple times a day I only go to step5 export project at the end of each day. In the interim I frequently click on the down arrow next to save and select create a Backup Copy, I also ensure "Create a Backup Copy every time you upload" is ticked.

This gives me multiple recovery options with very little effort.

The built in backup is not as comprehensive as export project because it relies on the underlying Windows filing system to remain in tact (and there are too many instances of it failing to recover a project), but to be fair, most of the time it works and it is fast. When the one file required by WX5 but not part of the internal backup routine is corrupted I then resort to importing the most recent iwzip.  This proceedure has offered me great protection for many years.
