Can A Comment Empty My Guestbook

Somebody sent me a comment on my guest book and they seem to have deleted all the other comments.
I do not understand html or java and I never got beyond DOS 6 but this looks dodgy to me.
I tried to attach a text file copy of the email but you do not allow it.

Hi Mike,
probably the server can not read correctly the xml file. Go in the comments folder and rename the comment file (for example.old) and rename the backup file so you can restore the comments.
