What happened yesterday
Автор: Kevin PrinceHi,
Something strange happened yesterday. X5 reinstalled itself.
I've not used it for about a week due to other commitments, but yesterday I thought I would look at one of my sites.
I was also dealing with some emails, so I started it and left it while I was typing an email. During this email X5 flashed up with a message which did not manage to read and then started a reinstall.
I thought, oh, must be an update, especially as there must be one due??
Finished my email only to find that X5 had opened again and was sat requesting my key and email.
Which I gave it.
Only to find when it was all over and restarted again, ALL 5 of my projects had vanished from the main startup screen..... Two projects have vanished completely the other three were where expected.
Duh! what happened? Was there an update in the last few days?
Regards
Hi, you must always remember to export the project in STEP 5 using the "Export the Project" item, just so you can be sure to always find your projects in the folder where you have decided to export them. Those project previews in the opening screen of Website X5 usually disappear to me when I do a reinstall of the software but if those projects were exported regularly in STEP 5 after the biggest changes, I can always re-import them without problems. Try to see if there are any Backup copies using the "Backup" function in the opening screen (see screenshot below). In case you can't solve it, wait for other possible solutions from other users.
Kevin, if you are using WIN10 please check that a recent update hasn't messed up. A customer recently (temporarily) lost everything. WIN had created a temp user and moved her profile in there, but left her docs, etc in the old user directory. Every installed program reinstalled when first executed.
Browse the user folder on drive C to identify or dismiss this possibility.
Otherwise, look for the Incomedia folder on your PC, the default is in documents, you may need to reset the default folder when WX5 starts.
