Q1. How do I make my sub menu (2-in yellow) open on either left or right, currently it opens below the menu (like in pic 1 in green)

You can define where you want your level menu to open on Menu Object > Level Menu > Opening

I m using hamburger menu and level opens on bottom even if I decide to open from left or right
