I understand what you mean, but unfortunately this is really not something we can control specifically.

If you enable the "Adapt the size of the font to the Object's width", the adaptation will be done automatically.

This means that in certain circumstances or with certain sized, the text might indeed be too big or too small. All you can do is change the size of the object until the optimal spot is found.

Alternatively, like you mentioned, you can use the Text Object or you can disable the automatic adaptation and it should work just like the Text Object
