When the PDF File object is activated in Firefox the PDF-file is not shown in the Window but downloaded directly. When activated in Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi and Opera there are no problems.
Please view the attached document.

Assitional information:
The PDF File object is working perfect when using the Google Viewer, but that viewer is not accepted by the users.

Beware that in Firefox, a user can set that a PDF should be downloaded OR the PDF should be viewed.
Maybe you should tell the users that it is a matter of setting.
Hello Vagn,
unfortunately there were no attachments, perhaps because of the size.
PDF files should be visible without requiring a download even on Firefox, could you please provide the URL of one of the pages with the PDF File object so that I can take a look?
Thank you.

Sorry for the missing attachment - it was because I used PDF and was not aware of the filetype message. Its now converted into an image-file.
You can see the site here: https://socregoest.dk/pdf-test.html

Hello Vagn,
I suspect that the issue may lie with the browser's settings as mentioned by John:
I visited the page with Firefox and no prompt for a download appeared, I simply see the file in the viewer:

Hi Eric
Thank you for the prompt answer.
We know it can be set by the user, but it's difficult to tell a lot of unknown users to modify their settings.
And why is it possible possible to view the PDF-files by using the Google viewer and not by the viewer in an iframe?
The customer does not want to use Google. Therefor it is somehow important for us to find a solution.

Vagn
Hello Vagn,
just to confirm whether the file itself may be affecting this, could you provide me with a copy of the PDF?
Thank you.

Hi Eric
Yes I can - or...
Unfortunately your system will not accept PDF-files.

Vagn
Hello Vagn,
apologies for my distraction, I could simply download it from the page itself.
I will check the result.
(It > En) ... the PDF file format is not a format created for the WEB, but for printing programs, and is not suitable for the WEB, and in case it is used on the WEB you need to know the problem....
... the PDF format is a native proprietary format...
... to view a PDF file on the monitor you need the relative READER...
... to view the PDF in the browser you need the browser to be equipped with the relative reader....
... not all browsers are equipped with PDF readers, but all browsers allow the download of PDF files, therefore they can be consulted with their local readers...
... to increase the compatibility of the PDF on browsers there is the GoogleGocsViever utility, with almost global compatibility, even if in some cases it is unstable...
... the WSx5 program can use this option, and therefore it would be preferable...
...
... the best solution for the WEB is to use pages in HTML format (or, to be avoided, convert PDF to image format)...
.
ciao

Hello Vagn,
as I suspected, the file used has no influence on this, and unfortunately there is no way to force the browser to display rather than download through the settings.
Is there a specific reason why Google Viewer is not an option?
