Why is PHPMailernotupdated by developersin the oldX5Evolution11 WebSite –PHP8.0 is notsupported. An attempt to send a messagefrom a mailformresults in abug: Error 500 internal server error/
How do I update?

Error 500 is typically an error from server side and not from client side.
Check with your provider.

The hostingsupportreportedthat, judgingby the log, the error is relatedto the use of the outdated__autoload()functioninpublic_html/res/PHPMailerAutoload.php(line45). We recommendupdating the PHPMailerversion.

The WebSite X5 Evolution 11 program is probably about 10 years old, and the PHP mailer code was probably written for a PHP version that is also 10 years old.
The Incomedia staff will be online starting Monday and can tell you whether the 10-year-old version of the PHP mailer still runs with PHP 8 and what adjustments would be necessary, if any.

Yes, it is veryoutdated,but it has been updated.Version5.3 of PHPMailer does notworkonPHP8. I tried to installPHP5.3on the Composerserverin the ~/directory.bin,but it didn'thelp.I'll wait for the help of the developers.Andif they offer a gooddiscount, I'll buy a PROso I don't have to suffer.

support for PHP 8.0 was added later, in version 2021.2, so unfortunately this is not compatible with your version 11.
You should see a discount available for the purchase of the current version in the start page of the software, could you please check?
