How do I force using the Level Menu?
I want a dropdown menu like level menu where i can restrict the options to 5 using the "max items per column".
But i can't seem to switch from main menu to level menu? How do I select that the menu is a level menu?

If there should only be a maximum of 5 menu items per level, then only create a maximum of 5 menu items per level, otherwise it might have to be limited to 5 with JavaScript, e.g. with EXTRA code from KolAsim.
I don't quite understand the last question.
For accessibility reasons, the menu items are highlighted in color when operated with the keyboard.

In the level menu, looks like you can set the max number of items to display.....
I'm not using the menu in a header, but on a page.
My menu link is to a folder with 35 pages - but I only want to show a list of 5 items plus the scroll option to allow the user to browse the items and then pick which one to go to
If you select "Arrange in multiple columns" as the menu type, the maximum number of menu items can also be set and is effective.

If there should only be one column and this should have a scroll function, then this can probably only be done with JavaScript code.

Yes that may be the case. I set the parameters but no change in the preview results. I am trialing realmac Elements program and it allows true dropdowns with linked actions.
ciao, ...it's not worth it here...
...but with the program's options, you can create menus like the one in this > Marketplace template...
