How can I set up a download button or page to give access to a free PDF file to my visitors once they have signed up to my email list.?

Hello,
Perhaps could you embed the pdf into a restricted page using the PDF widget and provide your subscribers the link to access this page inside your mailing list ?
If you embed the PDF file inside the page, the visitor could be able to download it.

Use the X5 Mail Form and it gives you the option of going to a webpage when they send the form. On this optional page insert a "Download" either by text or image by using the "LINK" function in X5 and link directly to the PDF!!
