A widget to invoke downloads and record the event.

Hostmonster allow me to offer files downloaded from their servers but I want to know how often this happens.

So could I have a widget that provides a download button which when clicked links to the file to download and adds 1 to the total for that file.

I currently ue the link to file or URL link but I have to delete http and X5 has a nasty habit of reinserting it which stops the download from working.
