Hi,
How are the page title tags are represented in V9. I have a title tag for the index page and I do have individual titles for each page. Looking to the site with browsers when I am on a page other than the index page, it displays both the individual page title plus the index page title.
Please see the attached image.

Vedat

Hi Vedat!
Could you please check all your ''extended page titles'' and your descriptions in the sitemap? Are they correct?
Автор
Hi Smantha,
They are correct. I have individual extended page titles and individual description tags for each page. They have to be different from one another because if they are the same search engines do not like it.
I am attaching the index page title and "trees" page title screen shots. You will see, if you go to Trees page on the site it will also show the index page title.

Hi Vedat,
did you try out the Beta update? I do not see ''Beta'' next to your licence key. The problems you describe should be fixed in that update. Please let me know.
Thank you!

Hi Samnatha
I have not switced to beta. I will wait for the next stable update. Thanks for letting me know that it will be fixed with the next update.
Best Regards,
Vedat
They should be fixed, but it really would be useful if you could test them out in our beta to be sure about it in order to avoid problems in the future. We release the beta version so that you can test it and let us know if your project works ok, if not we can still work on it and change something for you.
Please let me know what you intend to do. Thanks!

Hi Samantha,
Ok, I did switch to beta. Uploaded the site. It seems like there is no fix with this update. Whenever you are on another page ather than the home page it still shows the
Metal Wall Art • Metal Wall Sculpture Art • Gurtan
home page title after its own title.

Hi,
I also have problems with titles. My web site : www.noroise.com
If you go for example on the French version, the title of the home page is (based on the "view code" button of my navigator) :
<title>Un gite de charme dans le Cotentin - Gite de charme dans la Manche en Basse Normandie à Blainville sur mer</title>
However, the title I have entered in the web site X5 ev9 software is:
Gite de charme dans la Manche en Basse Normandie à Blainville sur mer
So, the first part of this text ( "Un gite de charme dans le Cotentin - ") should not appear in the code. But I can not change it because according to the software, this first part is no longer in use.
Titles are very important for the ranking of web sites. It is a very important thing to fix.
Vivien, can you post a screen capture of the home page Advanced Properties tab ? Like this one :
Just want to check something with you.
Et on peut continuer en français, si désiré, mais dans un autre message.
Bernard
I'm sorry Vedat, I made a mystake there.
What you see happens because the description you add in the ''general settings'' -website title for example will appear in addition to every website page. This has been added in order to improve your website SEO. Please check what you have added there.

Hi Samantha,
Thank you for letting me know. This brings whole new questions to creating titles with V9. Since every page is allowed 65 characters for titles, if the home page is 65 characters already, adding any specific titles to other pages making them SEO unfriendly, creating longer titles than permitted.
On the other hand, not adding specific page titles for each page, using the same title in all pages, is already SEO unfriendly and get penalties from search engines having duplicate titles.
This is really very important factor that needs to be corrected immediately. V9 should make the webmasters to decide which titles goes to which pages, not automatically add the title created for the home page at the end of the specific page.

Vedat

This really can bring sites down, it does not improve SEO.
No Vedat, it isn't exactly like that: the title you add in Step 1 is placed automatically everywhere. If you do not wish to have it you don't need to put it. You can if you wish, add it manually in each page.
You don't need to add a very long title to each page, the shorter it is, the easier you find it.

Hi Samanta,
I am working on my titles. But I had no idea it was acting this way. I had titles meters long all over. I shoud have noticed it earlier, but V8 acted differently.
I have mentioned this to Frank at one of my posts. http://answers.websitex5.com/post/5083
No wonder Google dropped all my pages from their index except 5 of them as soon as I upgraded the site to v9.

Vedat
Hi everybody,
As Bernard asked me below, please take a look at my screenshot.
Bernard, I do not mind speaking French but I English will allow everybody to follow this post.
No problem, Vivien...
As Samantha said it, the words you put in the Title field in step 1 are used on every pages of your website as the title tags.
If you go in step 2, tick the Titre complet checkbox and add words in the Titre complet field, those words will be added to title tags, with an hyphen separating the two sentences (the one from the Title field in step 1 and the one that you add in step 2).
Now, if you dont put anything in the Title field, in step 1, and you put something in the Titre complet field of a page, in Step 2, and tick the checkbox, then the title tag will look like this (using your site as an example) :
<title>Gite de charme dans la Manche en Basse Normandie à Blainville sur mer - </title>
Dont know if it helps...
Regards
Bernard
Bernard, the introduction page is considered as a "special page" and there is no way you can change the page properties. If you take a look at the screenshot I enclosed in this message, you will see that every options are grayed.
