I can't attach files to my e-mail form. If i attach photos all was good but i do some tests and i can-t attach videos or archives. I recive an error "ÿou must have javascript enable" Now i do not deactivate anything and i do not understand what is the role of javascript in my upload form since photos work just fine at upload. Could someone help me ? Another problem ... how do i make to see a upload progressbar ? Is there a way ? Many thanks in advance for your answers

Hello A. Remus,

I'm not sure if the javascript message has anything to do with uploading, or is a coincidental error.

Note that some webhosts place restrictions on file size and/or file type when uploading.

Check with your host to verify the maximum file size allowed, and whether or not your video and zip files are exceeding that limit (both can be very large as I'm sure you're well aware)

As regards an upload progress bar, unfortunately there is no way at present to create this within X5.  It would be a very useful and helpful addition to the program, and you might like to post an 'Idea' within the forum suggesting the same.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hello paul. yes i speakt with my host and the limit is 70 Mb without filetype restrictions (i speak about One.com) Where i hosted the website i really do not have any restriction (the owner is a good friend of mine). I tryed all ways possible including to change e-mail adress ... it not work except photos. I searched all around the internet for a html script to upload direct on my website in a specific folder .... i found some sites but all seems so complicate (i am verry dummy in html - i know only basics basics). If you could help me with an html code for upload (or someone) even if i have to pay (if i afford) it is not necesary for me to use email upload. Just to know where in my website i will found files and eventually a notification. many thanks in advance

Hello A. Remus,

It could probably depend on the timeout from the server with big files since it takes longer to upload them and this shows the error message.

Have you tried with files with different size to see on which filesize you get this message?

Please keep me updated.

Hello and please excuse me for this huge late answer.

I do some tests and the maximum filesize seems to be 8 Mb. Under 8 Mb the message is sent corectly over 8 Mb i recive the error no matter what e-mail adress i complete in the form.

Best regards

Hello A. Remus,

Then if under 8 mb it works correctly, the hosting server has set a limit to this size and not 70mb. In any cases, to send bigger files it's always better to use external services, which offers for smaller sizes a free service.

Many thanks!
