ERROR 406, Windows 8, X5 ev 10

Hello all - I've successfully installed ev10 to my new w8 PC. I didn't get much spare time over summer and now I'm at last ready to roll. Ev 10 says "Your software hasn't been updated with the latest version available", which is no surprise. I can download the update, and I get to the EULA and then get about an inch into the progress bar. Then Error code 406 appears. I use Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2013 and that can sometimes block, so I've turned it off and retried, no luck. All advice gratefully received!
