Problems updating website 
Автор: Margaret S.I'm having no success making changes to my website. I launched my new site (V10.1.4.45) last night (17 Feb, '14) but then this morning I wanted to fine tune, made the changes, and re-uploaded. No success. The corrected pages are in the preview, but online, the old pages persist. The project's orginal work title persists in the browser tab despite my changing it to 'Margaret Sisu Fiction'. The old icon persists despite being deleted in the new site. I previewed the pages with the CTRL button held down and all the new info is there but not online. I tried the 'upload all files' option instead of just 'only those files modified.' I viewed site in IE, Firefox, and Chrome and clicked 'refresh' in each browser. I logged off and logged back on to the internet and tried again. Always, nothing. 7 tries. Browser capacity isn't an issue. My site is: www.margaretsisu.com.

in your browser (IE) hold the Ctrl key down then hit F5, that will do the job for you.

Please keep 1 problem on every post this makes it for everybody better to follow. (also the search for problems in answers is then better)
Regarding your icon I think you mean the favicon (website icon). If this is set ones then it will not leave your pc easily this is an common explorer / browser problem.
So it will take sometime to clear on your own pc, but it will after time (could be a month or sometimes even more).
But don't be alarmed people that open your site and haven't seen the old favicon will not see it. I just checked your site and on my pc, there is no favicon.
See scrn shot. So just make a new one, and test it on a pc where the old website has not been viewed on, you will see it works there with no problem.

Hello, I understand about the favicon now, thank you.
That, however, still leaves the biggest problem of changes not uploading. Note: I loaded the new site design Feb 16 without problem. It was only when I tried to do amendments afterward that nothing would change and still won't. Attached is a capture of a new page I tried to change again today. The old page is still online.
I'd used V9 before without problems.

And using CTRL - F5 while in IE didn't working. Hoping you have other possible solutions up your sleeve.

The website title is set in general settings, website title. If you set it correct there then that's ok.
I believe you use ctrl-x5, I see the wrong descrition on internet also.
Are you sure you upload to internet in the correct folder ? Please check !
If this is the case you can delete the folder. (you should see on internet after ctrl-f5 no website anymore ! This way you now you have the correct folder deleted. Now upload the complete project again and see it this has helped you.
This is the only explanation I have, If this does not help you should check your serviceprovider. (some update websites after some time, ask if this is could be the case at your webhosting company.

Hello, the problem has been solved. Ultimately, it was a host directory issue. Thanks for your help and other tips, however.
