When customer receives confirmation email , it includes a paypal buy now button. How can this be removed as they have already paid by paypal on the site at step 4 of the shopping cart? Thanks

Steve, they receive the order email before the payment, that is why the button is inside their email.
this is how webx5 works, before payment sends the order number!
you can not do that within the program. you might be able to find the script inside poblished website (e.x. x5 engine) but each time you update your website that setting will be gone.

Hi Anthony,
Not sure if I understand this answer. Maybe I wasn't clear with the question, so here goes.
Customer orders from the cart, and at step 4 is presented with a buy now button on the website. Click the button and it goes to paypal where a payment is made.
The customer then receives and order number email, whcih has another buy now button in the message.
The customer will think either:
1 They are being asked to pay twice
2 Theoriginal payment hasn't worked. (which if it has and they click the buy now button again they will be charged twice for the same item.
SOas far as I see there are two solutions:
1. Take the buy now button off the step 4 page, and just ask the customer to buy now when they receive the order email
2. Remove the buy now button from the email.
Ifneither is possible (and i'm sure one of them is!) then it's not a very good shopping cart!
Thanks again and sorry for the lengthy question
Hi Steve
this has been my issue from day one with websitex5 shopping cart as well.
it has unusual way. after customer place an order (before hitting the botton to pay with pay pal) they will receive the order number (email) which includes the paypal button, because they did not pay the invoice yet.
Like I said, they are receiving that email before payment and not after.
in both solution (removing button) you need to remove one part of the code after publishing your website (inside cart folder) and if you update your website, you need to re-cusomize those files again.
try your shopping cart, place an order with valid email address, and do not hit the buy now or pay now button, go and check your email, you will see that email sitting inside your mail box.
I personaly did not tried the shopping cart in v.11, but I am sure it works the same since the path they choose to go with shopping cart was not what we usualy know (at least in the U.S).
I am working on (updating) my www.wdesigners.us website with v.11, so far I do not see any difference in between v10 pro and v.11 pro for ordering process.
The best soloution Incomedia can come up with is to remove the step that shows the order number to client and take them paypal, after payment direct the paypal to the order number page.
feel free to open an Idea post and tell them about this issue. I did post this Idea, I think it was 2 or 3 years ago nothing happened so far.
