I am buildign a database driven website. I have a recipe database that I've built and I am needing the data to be viewable in my website. I need my customers to be able to utilize the search engine to find the recipes that exist in my database. I found that websitex5 does not yet have this capability. I haven't dabbled with php/sql in quite a while and I need a script that will specifically function with websitex5. I tried adding a script via an html object, but later noticed that my host name, database name and password all appear in the source code. I've added my database to websitex5. Since I added this in the build, is it necessary to add that data in the php?

Hello Sykeena L.,
Unfortunately I cannot help you with the use of custom code, but if you have any doubts or issues on how to add them in the pages you made with WebSite X5 you can use the HTML code object. Generally speaking since the functions do not depend on WebSite X5, you can search useful information about the custom code with search engines like google or wait until someone on the community of Answers can help you.
About the issue you experienced where the php code was visible, it is necessary in step 2 to change the page extension to PHP by selecting the page and then clicking on properties. In the expert tab you will find the option to change the page extension from HTML to PHP.
Many thanks!

Okay, here's the thing. My php info stopped showing up in my source code, but my website updates stopped loading to the internet via ftp. I didn't know what the problem was. I cleared my cache, deleted a new folder from a previous software load...didn't work...and then I realized...I changed my homepage's format from html to php. I changed it back to html and my site started to load. How do you recommend that I add my php code without this problem?
Hello Sykeena,
If you add php code on the home page then it needs to have as extension .php otherwise the php code will appear on the page and it will not work. What you need to do is, rename it to .php and on the hosting space delete the index.html page and then proceed to export. If in this way the home page is not loaded then you need to contact the hosting support to ask on how to set to load the index.php when you try to open the website since it seems a setting of the hosting is not loading it. The hosting support will be able to solve this issue really fast.
Many thanks!
