Hello,

I´d like to show my client a template that I prepare for him. I would like to do that via new locked page on my website. He will recieve a password from me and can look to and try the template. How can I connect a template with another? Is it possible?

Hello Eliška,

The best way to do this would be as follows:

Create a second WebSite X5 project built using the template that you have prepared for your client.  Upload this new project to a sub-directory of your existing domain...  e.g.

http://your_existing_domain.com/sub_directory

Be very careful to ensure that you set the correct URL targetting the sub-directory in Step 1 General Settings...  'WebSite Address (URL)'

Likewise, be sure to upload the second project (in Step 5) only into the sub-directory... do not overwrite your existing project in any way.

You can password protect the second project if you wish, but if you decide to do so then you must of course use the 'Access Management' in Step 4 of the second project, as opposed to the first.

You can then set a link from the first project to the second, or alternatively just give your client the URL of the second project.

Hope this helps.

Paul

Hello,

could you please explain in detail how to do it? I´ve done the first step - Website adress. The second step is a mystery for me. I´ve filled everything in the step 5 but when I upload the website on the Internet my website is changed (according to the second template). What I have done wrong? Thank you so much!

I add an attachment of my step 5.

On your server you have a directory called 'www'...  create a new, empty directory/folder on your server within/inside the 'www' folder, and name it to reflect the name of your second website.

For example, if your main website is:

http://www.webvizitkar.cz/

and you call your second website 'foobar', then you should set the destination folder in Step 5 of the second WebSite X5 project to '/www/foobar'

You would then be able to access your second website via the following URL:

http://www.webvizitkar.cz/foobar/  (and this is what should be set as the WebSite Address in Step 1 of the second project)

Please forgive me as I do not speak your language but the 'Destination folder' in Step 5 is shown as follows in your screenshot:

Moznosti > Cilovy adresar
