Welcome page timer not working after upload to site host?

I have created a Welcome page for my site with a time-out period of 5 seconds set before it is supposed to jump to the first page.
This works fine on my development machine in the preview; however once the website is uploaded the time-out never occurs and the browser remains on the welcome page until I click on it, then it jumps to the first page.
If anbody knows why this is occurring I would be very grateful.

Hello Patrick,
It works exactly as you intend it to on my own PC - tested in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
Most likely you have some sort of add-on or plugin installed in your own browser which is interfering with the redirect. This would also explain why it works fine for you in the Preview mode.
Try disabling add-ons/plugins one at a time, or resetting your Internet Explorer to its default settings.

Thanks for your reply.
I disabled some Bing add-ons for map and translator, and everything seems to be working now. Don't know why they should affect it ???? ... anyway all working as expected now.
