Trying to upload revised version of website to internet. Message; unable to connect to server - generic error (no number)
My FTP address, username, password is saved automatically so I haven't dabbled.
I've recently changed email and then had to change password even though I couldn't understand why.

What did you do to resolve this on the previous occasions when you encountered the same error?

There is a high probability that the fix will be the same if you have not altered your configuration in any way like you suggest.
Can you please explain further what you mean with respect to this statement:
